    Yeah hydrometer reading. Umm I'm not sure exactly how to read it. There's a solid black line below the yellow area it says it needs to be in to bottle. It's hovering just in the black area below the yellow still

    Not sure if people can still see this? Tested again today (20th) and still not quite there!! Do I leave it? It's been 15 days and the instructions say 6!!!

    ok will do! I took another reading today (before seeing these replies) and it has moved closer to the bottling gv. I'll leave it until thurs and measure on thurs and fri and see if it's steady. tasted the sample and it's really good! just flat of course haha

    Ok quick query I hope someone can help me with. I took my first reading and it was at the normal level so I left it as instructed for the 6 days. I checked the level on friday (which was the 6th) and it wasn't at the level that the hydrometer says it needs to be. So I left it another day but...

    have I ruined my beer?!

    I used a coopers brew kit for wheat beer and misread one of the instructions! It said to add 500g spraymalt and 300g sugar but I accidentally put in 500g of sugar as well as the 500g spraymalt. Have I ruined my brew? This is my first brew so I'm a complete newbie. Praying that you'll...

    ok. last thing I swear! If I don't have 23 litres worth of bottles, would it be ok to bottle 10 bottles worth (leaving the rest of the beer in the barrel) and then bottle the rest when the bottles become available again? (knowing me and my housemates that wouldn't take long haha!)

    thanks people! So I don't need to use the pressure barrel if I don't want to? I can just go from fv to bottles? would I be able to put it into the barrel, let it go through the second stage, then put it into bottles? that is kind of what I thought I would do haha. I think the literal brewing...
