Will I have killed the yeast?

You'll have to let me know how that turns out, does depend how you prefer your beer but with the nog it was good without the extra bitterness, the sweetness brought the plum flavour out in my opinion!

    Milestone American Pale Ale

Yeah you will be pleased with the results, more of a summer ale I would say though. I used 30g chinook and 30g Nelsin sauvin which gave it the perfect subtle hoppy kick

    Milestone American Pale Ale

Unfortunately I forgot to use a hydrometer on this one! I always short brew to 21l and it tastes good, it has enough of a mouth feel to make me think it isn't as weak as 3.4%, I assume it's around 4/4.5%.

Will I have killed the yeast?

I had a bottle after 1 week in the warmth then a week cooling, interesting is how I would describe it! I have overdone it on the liquorice, turns out they don't half pack a punch when they soak up the beer! This has slightly taken over the taste of the plums but it is actually a really nice...

Brew 3 - Youngs American Pale Ale

You won't be disappointed by this! It's an amazing end result, lovely and hoppy. Mine turned into a volcano, the yeast went everywhere! But it was in quite a warm room.

Will I have killed the yeast?

I will let you know how it tastes in a few weeks! I added 3 roots which so far has added a nice taste after 2 days but I'm leaving it for another 5 days so hoping it isn't too overpowering!

Will I have killed the yeast?

Ah good news, can't wait for it to be finished. I've added some pectloase for he haze but may need to add a little more if it doesn't clear out by the weekend!

Will I have killed the yeast?

Ok so you think the yeast will be okay? Yeah it's not far off bottling but if the yeast has been killed off I guess it won't break down the sugars in the plums and therefore won't get much of a plum taste from it.

Will I have killed the yeast?

No it was 1.040 last Sunday when I started it, left it untill Friday before adding the plums but didn't take a hydrometer reading at this point (the nog usually takes about 5 days to complete so I'm guessing it would have been at 1.015 or below at this point). I took a hydrometer reading today...

Will I have killed the yeast?

So I've had a woodfordes nog brewing for a week and wanted to make a poachers choice clone, so following a recipe from someone on here i pasteurised 2kg of plums and added some liquorice root to the brew after a week. However my mind was elsewhere and I didn't let the plums cool down for long...

    Milestone American Pale Ale

Turned out really well! Lovely, clear pale ale and the hops have added a subtle grapefruit taste to it. It's more of a summer drink, it doesn't have a huge body but it is very refreshing. On its own I think branding it as an American pale ale isn't great, without me adding the hops (60g fresh...

    Milestone American Pale Ale

Couldn't find a thread for this yet so thought I'd start one! Started a week ago and it still looks very lively. Going to dry hop with Nelson Sauvin and Chinook, when it calms down a bit that is! I short brewed it to 21/22 litres, smells good but looks a bit dark for a pale ale. Anyone else...

    Youngs American IPA

When I went to my LHBS they gave me a mesh bag to put over the end of my racking cane/syphon tube, works a treat! Definitely recommend.

    Suggestions for a newbie!

Hey guys, thanks for the help in advance. So I'm a newbie to brewing, only done 2 brews from off the shelf kits. However I want to experiment a little. I'm looking to do a really hoppy IPA, possibly something like punk ipa or at least something like fullers Bengal lancer! Could somebody...
