    I try and avoid any chance of introducing contamination to my brews, I take an original gravity reading, and then throw the sample away, and I take a final gravity reading and again throw the sample away.     Oh no, a stuck ferment!

    I would check temperature first, as this would be my first guess, and if all seems ok then do as Bandit said and restart the ferment. Just be carefull not to introduce contamination!!
