    Basic Questions

Hi all, I've just finished my 3rd kit (all Coopers - Bitter, ale and IPA) and I have a couple of quick questions that will hopefully help my end product for the next one... 1) what is it that causes the very slight sulphur / 'home brew' taste to the end product? I've left the bottles for 3-4...

    My First Brew

Further to the above, I checked the temp of the brew this morning (day 5 now) and it has dipped below 18 degrees... to panic or not to panic? I've wrapped it up etc. now so hopefully it will get back to 20 odd. Will the yeast have stopped working or just slowed down?

    My First Brew

Further to this, I've just finished making my first stage. Used the Coopers 'real ale' kit and didn't go anything other than follow instructions. It was 25 degrees when I added the yeast and the OG was 1042. I'm gonna shut it away for a few days and keep my fingers crossed!

    My First Brew

Newbie alert! I'm doing my first brew at the weekend, I have the Coopers starter kit, going for a 'real ale' I've seen lots on here about adding various things to the mix... Any suggestions or shall I just go with what's in the box? Thank you in advance for any advice.
