    I can't get a good nitro pour

Even whilst carbonating? I transfer, then immediately chill and carbonate.

    I can't get a good nitro pour

Do you need to cold crash? This is something I have never done. I find that the beer clears over time in the fridge anyway. Plus with stout, would you even notice?

    December 2024 Comp - Freestyle

Yo yo yo Getting ahead of the curve before I forget. It's freestyle comp time in a couple of days, so if anyone is interested, reply via this thread or send me a PM. I know this coincides with the Secret Santa, so if there is enough interest, and everyone is agreeable, we could aim to have it...

    Secret Santa 2024

Go on then, stick me down for two, mate.

    I can't get a good nitro pour

You are adding co2 to the beer before carbing with mixed gas; this is why you aren't getting a good pour. This happened to me when my blow off tube got blocked once. You need to hook up a blow off tube to your keg to de-gas it over a few days. Then carb up with the mixed gas at the correct psi...

What are you drinking tonight 2024.

I am working tomorrow so I should probably only have a couple of pints. I wonder how that will turn out 🤔

What are you drinking tonight 2024.

Ha, thought you were saving the hazelnut brown until the weekend? Currently enjoying a dry Irish stout from @Alastair70 and it is yummy. Carb level spot on, that almost charred caramel flavour being the dominant one. So this is what Beamish is like off the nitro, eh? Sorry, can't seem to upload...

What are you drinking tonight 2024.

A selection of brews for me. In the keg is a hazelnut brown ale that I am not happy with. Had to use a substitute extract and it isn't fit for purpose. Now trying to get a refund for the 90ml of liquid **** that I don't want. The Kernel export was a good find today. Lifted 4 off the shelf but...

What are you drinking tonight 2024.

Last of the beers kindly delivered by @Alastair70 and it is a Biere de Garde. Must admit, I am not sure if I have ever had one of these before. So a quick Google search was needed. Dark copper, white head, good carb level, aroma and taste is slightly spicy. Apparently they are akin to a...

What are you drinking tonight 2024.

Yes, mate, really liked both beers. The Gamma Ray keg kicked last night. I thought it was half full ffs. How does this keep happening? Head was a bit fuzzy this morning. Slept through my alarm clock and made it into work with less than a minute to spare. Thank Christ for 10am starts!

What are you drinking tonight 2024.

Might regret this in the morning but eff it! Second helping from @Alastair70 and it is his pseudo lager. Poured really well, with a nice, fluffy head. Definitely more carb than the rye ale. A similar kind of back taste though. Same yeast or same hop? Regardless, it's a really nice lager that you...

What are you drinking tonight 2024.

First of the guest beers tonight, kindly dropped off by @Alastair70 and it is his Rye-ish Red Ale. Lovely, fluffy, white head. Nice hue for what you expect a rye ale to be. Can definitely get the rye in the aroma as well as the taste. Lovely, mellow, easy drinker. Would be more than happy if my...

What are you drinking tonight 2024.

Cheers, mate. Yes, I am very happy with the hazelnut brown recipe. Fingers crossed that substitute flavouring does it justice. As for the Gamma Ray, I should probably get a tin and do a side by side. Although it's possibly way off. Hoppy beers are so hard to clone. Thank you for the kind words...

    Unscented Oxy

Yip, that's the one I use and have been for years now. Never noticed any scent from it.

    Kegland Bucket Blaster

Jesus, not half. MM selling 750g for £15. Think the last time I bought oxy, it was under £3 for 1.25kg from B&M. Do you rinse using the bucket?

    Kegland Bucket Blaster

G'day So I recently got one of these and after assembling it, had a go at cleaning two kegs. First was a serving keg so it wasn't too dirty. Second was my 23L keg that I use as an FV. Needless to say, that was a bit dirtier. I used the same water, just to see what would happen. Wasn't happy...

Yes, mate, been in there a few times.

What are you drinking tonight 2024.

Hey, it's my birthday. My hazelnut brown ale just kicked. Fortunately I have a keg of Beamish to soothe the pain. Only two days in the keg and tasting pretty darn nice already.

    Keg hopping

Suppose it depends on your method of adding hops to the keg. I've heard all sorts of methods.
