    Marcus Rashford becomes MBE

I love it when people have to resort to logical fallacies to further their argument. I never once mentioned communism or even socialism - I just pointed out that the tax system is rigged to favour the wealthy and they still spend money to twist it even further. We should not have poverty and...

    Marcus Rashford becomes MBE

It never cease to amaze me how people think it’s OK for children to go without food if they are unfortunate enough to be born to bad parents - yet they show indifference to the rich who routinely exploit a tax system already rigged in their favour. Your vitriol is so misplaced it is actually...

Why would you choose not to shop @ Kegthat [POLL]

To be completely honest I never even knew you existed - I have an online supplier I use regularly and a local one for small occasional extra purchases. I will have a look though.

    SMASH

I’ve only ever done one, with enigma hops and was extremely happy with it.

Covid the jab and the final stage.

It’s a poor analogy though because COVID-19 - especially the delta variant - is much more transmissible than any strain of influenza we’ve seen for a century and it is hospitalising healthy people of all ages now whereas influenza tends to target the elderly.

Covid the jab and the final stage.

What is the source of this new information?

    Out of date kits

Canned products are safe to eat years after being sealed, may have lost a little bit of flavour as some complex carbs may have broken down over time but should be fine.

Covid the jab and the final stage.

Hopefully, boosters have shown to be extremely effective against a whole range of diseases.

Covid the jab and the final stage.

If only it was that simple. Infection doesn’t guarantee future immunity, our immune systems are not 100% efficient. Your body can fight off an infection quite well without ever developing neutralising antibodies or any long-term immunity response involving B or T cells. Some interesting...

Behind The Curve (Documentary on Flat Earthers)

Yeah, which sounds even more like a conspiracy theory. More likely it just didn’t work - Tesla was a great scientist but also an eccentric. https://www.forbes.com/sites/davidbressan/2019/07/10/how-nikola-tesla-planned-to-use-earth-for-wireless-power-transfer/amp/

Behind The Curve (Documentary on Flat Earthers)

Agreed, however there is quite a lot of evidence for the Big Bang - cosmic microwave background radiation and the expanding universe. Not just expansion either, but the rate of acceleration of galaxies is proportional to their proximity.

Behind The Curve (Documentary on Flat Earthers)

Which sounds like a too-good-to-be-true conspiracy story. It would never be free because infrastructure would be required to harvest, store and distribute this electricity.

Behind The Curve (Documentary on Flat Earthers)

Agreed - and I take both claims just as seriously.

Behind The Curve (Documentary on Flat Earthers)

Problem with your reasoning is that a scientific theory is a framework which describes observations so it has proof already. Theories are overturned when more evidence is uncovered, or better and more complete theories are developed such as Einstein updating Newton’s work on gravity. As for the...

Behind The Curve (Documentary on Flat Earthers)

No I get that, but i don’t think that either of these claims have any evidence to support them. Problem with our beginnings is that the evidence may be never fully uncovered - plus of course it isn’t all down to chance, time is a big factor too. Given enough time many highly improbable things...

Behind The Curve (Documentary on Flat Earthers)

Because without proof there is no reason to take their claims seriously.

Behind The Curve (Documentary on Flat Earthers)

Maybe I wasn’t clear - the burden of proof is on the person who makes the claim. If religious people think there is a god then they need to prove it. Imagine that someone claimed that they could levitate, you’d ask them to prove it.

Behind The Curve (Documentary on Flat Earthers)

While I agree with the sentiment, your reasoning is backwards. The existence of a god has never been proved yet, so there is nothing to disprove.

What are you drinking tonight 2021?

First try at lemondrop pale ale - extra pale malt extract with citra & lemondrop hops (no dry hop). Force-carbonated this as I’ve only just bottled it. Absolutely stunning, super fruity and crisp - so good I’ve started another batch.

Behind The Curve (Documentary on Flat Earthers)

I’ve never really equates conspiracy theorists with being purely anti-establishment, but I do find that they tend to be terrible at assessing the reliability of sources, voice distrust to data and are very easily swayed by stories and anecdotes. Many are also convinced that everything is the...
