To ginger, or not to ginger?...

Is that because you don't like ginger or because it just wouldn't go! Which of the barleywine kits gives the best result - ive seen youngs, muntons and the woodfordes headcracker?

To ginger, or not to ginger?...

Hi, I was thinking of making the youngs barley wine. Do you think that adding ginger (ive got a bottle of the liquid ginger wine compound stuff) might produce a nice ginger beer? Could split it in two and add it to half only if it might taste odd! But i do quite like a wee ginger beer! Lynsey.

I recently used some 'value water' (think its Tesco everyday value) to make a brew of beer. And i have another 10bottles waiting in the sidelines as i have a 30bottle kit of wine raring to go! However... i was speaking to someone who said 'how can you use that?... its not sterile only filtered...

    Afternoon!

Hi all! Just a wee introduction! Myself and my Other half have been making 'things' for a year or so now! Kit wines (nice), hedgerow wines (sometimes nice... sometimes paint stripper-esk...), sloe gin/vodka etc, and recently completed two beer kits (st pauls - very nice! Nog, just in bottle so...
