    EveryoneKnowsADave Brewdays!

After the cleaning out the fermenter I got straight to work on a Mangrove Jack's Irish Stout. Brewed to instructions at 23l however, used all of the brew enhancer 2 rather than just 1.2kg. After just 17 hours at 22°c it was already getting busy!

    EveryoneKnowsADave Brewdays!

That's the European lager transferred into the corny keg. I think it's been in the fermenter king for about 18 days. Fermented at 12°c for the most part then steadily increased the temp to 18°c after the og sat at 1.004 for a couple of days, before crashing back to 2°c. I've included some...

    Coopers euro lager eruption

It's settled down now and happily is more like it was pre dry hop. I'm using a 15psi PRV for this lager.

What are you drinking tonight 2021?

A Buxton Nagril coconut pastry stout via my latest beer52 box. Pretty nice. Not an overly coconut taste but quite sweet with a moderate mouthfeel.

    Coopers euro lager eruption

I think I've had a bit of a mare with the Cooper's European. I wanted to take a sample for gravity and also add some hops. I depressurised and in my haste, connected a pipe to the liquid post before adding the gas post. Lesson learned, I should have had a party tap on there. Anyway, I heard...

    Dry hoping

Bringing up a post from some time ago but, your quantities seems to match what I plan to use @terrym . When do you recommend adding?

Mangrove Jacks Irish Stout February Giveaway

Also bought the kit and [on offer] beer enhancer 2 from brew2bottle. I was considering chucking some treacle in there or finishing with some peanut flavouring but I think, first time round, I'll go with the as recommended recipe. I've got a lager in the Fermenter King at the moment, about 7...

    EveryoneKnowsADave Brewdays!

Took a wee while to get started but we're off and running. Fermentation chamber has settled at 13.5°c +/- 0.5°c and there's activity 😀

    Plaato keg

    +1 for that idea 💡👌👏

    Plaato keg

Good shout, cheers for that @F00b4r . I reckon I can get 6 kegs and a co2 in my keezer with a bit of maneuvering but I'm happily limiting it to 4 + co2 to save any hassle with lifting in and out and avoiding cables/pipes etc. Excellent point though, measure twice cut once kinda thing 😀

    Plaato keg

Ooh, I'm smitten! Those do look nice and the keezer example set up on the site is just lovely 🥰 A bit out of my budget at £550 ish for 6 😟

    EveryoneKnowsADave Brewdays!

Brewed a Cooper's European Lager kit with 500g LSM and 500g of dextrose, brewed to 22 litres. I've got it in the fermentation cupboard, currently at 16°c +/- .5°c. I learned a lesson with the LSM which I unfortunately dumped in! OMG did that need some work!! I'm assuming I need to add it to...

    What did you do today?

Made a red lentil and ham hough soup. It doesn't look too inviting but I would quite happily eat this for breakfast, lunch and dinner with thickly buttered crusty loaf until there is none left, then I'll lick any remaining spoons on offer. I don't soak the smoked hough. Instead, quickly boil...

    What did you do today?

Back to working from home today after a pretty fulfilling weekend. After work I caught up on some Real CSI stuff on BBC (that kind of tv really interests me) and grilled some sweet chilli chicken skewers obtained from the local butchers for dinner. I can't wait for the sunshine BBQ days to return.

    That, is a great shout.👍

    What did you do today?

This morning I started to install a can ceiling in the keezer shed. Just need to source about 300 more unique 330ml cans and I'm sorted 😆 I also tidied up the little serving hatch to the outside world and added a missing handle to one of the Nukataps.

    Low temperature cider ferment

Thanks for the responses both. That's encouraging to hear. The cider kit brew is supposed to be in there for just 1 week but I'll give it another week before taking a gravity sample. That's my first brew in the fermentasaurus @johncrobinson and I'm not using pressure this time round as I...

    Low temperature cider ferment

I put a MYO dark berry cider on last Saturday. Its bubbling away nicely in the self build fermentation chamber in the shed and there's a definite smell of sulphur in the air however, due to there being about 8 inches of snow on and around the shed the 40w heater is struggling to maintain...

What are you drinking tonight 2021?

A Sanguinem Aurantiaco from EvilTwin, snow chilled. A blood orange sour ale with a good level of 😜😖🤪 A likeable sour ale, I like my sours to be real facechangers and this one is a bit short 👍🍻
