New Mango Pale Ale from Mangrove Jacks

It’s a great cheap way to try building your own brew, I’ve done this for a few small batches, tried out different yeasts, hops for boil and dry etc, add in a few grain additions. All of them have been very drinkable, a few very good! (IMHO).

    No covid jab

Yes, that’s why you need a new flu shot each year, viruses mutate and adapt in order to replicate and spread. The Mu variant for example has already mutated significantly from the original, at some point, sooner with lower levels of vaccination and unchecked spread, the virus will evolve the...

    Curry...!!

Yum looks the business. I learnt to do something similar in Leicester years back, buttermilk instead of semi, but role two thin Nan and inbetween put a fairly dry layer of grated fresh or desiccated coconut, mashed dates sultanas and ground almonds, or more savoury version spinach and grated...

    Bottled beer life span.

I’ve got a couple of Rochefort 10 left from a case couple of years ago, BBE 2025, this beer develops amazing flavour changes over the years, good teacher of patience! I’ve found strong and dark seem to keep the best with my own brews, kept in sealed boxes in a coolish shed out of temptations...

    Dirty lazy barstewards

As a kid growing up in Cornwall we were taught to pick litter up if and when we found it, (wouldn’t dream of dropping it ourselves!) which wasn’t often back then, I’m not imagining some idyll I think people were just more considerate/had more self respect/fear of consequences.

    Blackberry season

I ripped my old thornless ones out last year and replaced with Merton Thornless, much better flavour than earliest thornless varieties, taste I’d say better than any shop ones but not quite up to wild, easier on the hands though!

    Blackberry season

I’ve got a Coopers devil Half Porter to use up+ 1.2 kg MJ lme, MJ M47 abbey yeast, planning to brew to 20 litres and secondary onto 1.5kg of blackberries from the allotment for 1-2 weeks. To sanitize the fruit plan was to freeze to break down, then wash in no rinse but rinse off before mashing...
