    Kit rating

Brewferm kits all brewed up very well, just need time to mature as they all do! Dark Rock make some great kits, Alpine Amber ale was particularly good, as are the Love brewing Craft and part grain kits, dark strawberry Belgian ale one of the best kits I’ve made, never had a duff one and...

Recommend books for all grain brewing.

I’m not at the stage with knowledge or kit (or funds!) to go all grain for anything over 2 gallons or so, mostly BIAB with my large 20 litre stockpot. Apart from the great Palmer and Hughes books and this forum, these two have proved invaluable to get going and give it a go: Brooklyn Brew...

    Spray malt with all grain?

Not dissimilar to some of the small batch brews I’ve done, as said keying into one of the calculators will give you a framework, depending on grain mix and intended strength I’ll add dme though not always. Should make a nice drop, what’s the fruit out of interest?

How much work is needed to brew kits?

I remember my Dad brewing Beer back in the 70/80s, he would get the Boots own kits for bitter and (Caxton?) Stout, wash out everything with washing up liquid and bleach, no readings, white for bitter brown sugar for the stout, the first beers I ever tried, I helped with the capping, was it the...

    Brewferm Dunkel Bock

Good call with the Amber, mine might have been a little too dark for style, still very tasty. Also went like the clappers, very strong fermentation, next one I do of these I’ll try and put away 9-12 months it aged very well.

    Brewferm Dunkel Bock

Just come across this thread, I brewed this about a year ago, swapped out sugar for dark dme, made 12 litres of very nice dark Bock and improved a lot after 4-5 months in the bottle. Never had a bad brew with any of the Brewferm kits.

Ambulance service 'operating at its limits'

That’s good money for Cornwall! Ambulance service absolutely knackered from what my mate tells me. Absolute mess back home, Truro hospital is rammed to the gills, as is the much smaller Bodmin, Newquay beds are blocked basically, you can’t get through to a GP let alone see one and several of the...

    Can the beer be rescued?

Did it taste ok? Probably too soon for the yeast to get going though shows good seal on bucket, probably degassing from transferring etc worth a go though !

    Can the beer be rescued?

By bad yeast expect you mean old and dead, understand mold likely from airborne contamination (peeking in common culprit) or sanitation issues, Been told anything breaking the surface offers a foothold for spores. If past it’s date Iwould chase the supplier up may be worth a go? Or get another...
