    Carbing a stout

Totally stuck mate. Tried everything. Decided to just bottle it and see what happens. Its currently in pet bottles in bin bags in boxes just in case. I know if it it doesn't explode it will be horrendously sweet but at this point I am past caring 🤣🤣

Mangrove Jacks Liberty Bell M36 yeast in a Red IPA kit.

Og was 1.045. Currently at 1.020. I added the can, 1kg dark dme, 250gr lactose and 200gr brewing sugar. Brewed to 21 lt. Would have expected the fg to drop below 1.020.

Mangrove Jacks Liberty Bell M36 yeast in a Red IPA kit.

I currently have a stuck fermentation on a coopers irish stout modded to a milk stout. I used mj empire ale yeast and it was exactly as you describe. No vigorous ferment as I've had using the coopers yeast on the stout kit. Very disappointed and now stuck with a stout that is not finished.

    Carbing a stout

Might be a while letting you know. Seems I have a stuck fermentation. Tried warming the fermenter, pitched some new yeast and gentle stirring but stuck at 1.020 for the last 3 days. Og was 1.045.

    Carbing a stout

Thanks guys. I was leaning towards 1 per bottle so thanks for confirming. I think I will try a couple with 2 though, just to see what the outcome is.

    Carbing a stout

looking for information on how many carbonation drops per 500ml for a coopers irish stout. Some say 1, others say 2 and I have even seen 1.5 mentioned. I'm looking for similar carb level to black sheep milk stout.

    Favourite can kits?

The instructions I had said to chop the hop pellets add boiling water and continue to chop, strain liquid and add hop mush to the fv. I was a bit dubious but followed to the letter. Turned out well.

Was going to be a beerworks chinook ipa but decided on this instead. Absolutely lovely when ice cold.

    BASE FOR MILK STOUT

I was thinking of putting one on today. I have a coopers irish stout, 1kg dark dme and 250-300 gr lactose. Planning to use mangrove jacks empire ale yeast m15. Thinking of brewing to 20l. I also have some brewing sugar but dont want the abv too high. Does this sound OK?

    Favourite can kits?

The beerworks kits from lovebrewing are very good. Easy to follow instructions too.

Thanks for the link. I had already found this but still felt like I could use the stabilizer on it's own.

Supermarket Juice Wine How To guide and Recipes.

Does anyone know if it's ok to use wilko wine stabilizers and forgo the campden tablets? I've looked around but I am finding conflicting answers. Seems the wilko stabilizer contains the same chemical as campden so I assume it's ok on it's own however I am probably wrong 😂
