Well if the gravity of the beer is suitably low enough tomorrow I'm going to rack off the beer into another Fv and Dry Hop with some Falconers Flight to give it a go, how long would be best for a dry hop?

I'm having a guess, but with no pressure and it being a sealed unit now you have created a vacuum, you would need to release the cap if you wanted to use the tap with no pressure.

I can also recommend getting both books, great reads, plenty of recipes and can usually be found at a discount price some where.

One of the BIAB starter bundles from one of the forum sponsors is a great way to get going, good value and a bundled recipe to try.

Sounds like there is too much pressure in the barrel and that is producing mainly head on your beer. You would either have to pour very slowly until the pressure goes down slightly or release a little of the pressure out of the barrel. I had the same issue when I first started using my PB, but...

Cheers guys, nothing in the freezer at the moment and it's only been in the FV since Saturday so a bit of time to choose something

I was mulling over the idea of giving it a post ferment pimp with some hops, those are varieties I haven't used yet so thanks for the suggestions. :thumb:

With not a lot of time and too many hyperactive Ankle Bitters about my next AG brew day will have to wait so with an empty FV I opted for this kit as a light summer drink, forgot how easy whacking a kit together was, although it still didn't mix well in the FV when topped up with cold water...

Had a quick look at the eBay item I purchased and it stated that the diode was an LED for power-on, I wasn't getting that, so a closer examination and a quick whip around the cable connector block pins with a soldering iron and hey presto it works. I don't know the quality of a £2 Chinese...

Had one of those really annoying moments, the parts are coming together for a stir plate, the bar and PWM were delivered, so a quick cobble together of the fan, 12v supply and the PWM, turn on......... and nothing, fan spins fine when attached direct to the supply so i am assuming a dead PWM...

1000 lbs of yeast, that's a lot of 10g packs to open :-)

I have Beersmith 2 on my Phone, cheaper than the PC\Mac version, but that £15 link makes it at least £7 cheaper, the only thing that bugs me with it is that if I also want it on my iPad I have to pay again rather than a single license that works across all platforms

In a way of beIng as cheap as possible how suitable would a 1.5 litre kilner jar be, would it work with a sealed lid or try and remove it and just use tin foil, suitably sanitised.
