Imagine this.
You put a cask in a cellar and fill it at atmospheric pressure with CO2 (all the air will be on top as CO2 is heavier) and then serve the beer.
As the cask is emptied it draws in the surrounding atmosphere (CO2 and not under pressure).
Would this be classed REAL ALE or not...
Are cask breathers used in "Real Ale" pubs with CO2???
I know "Real Ale" shouldn't be forced by CO2 but if we have a solution where instead of casks taking in air and beer going off we can replace it with CO2 WITHOUT forcing it to help preserve beer what's the problem?
If Landlords beer would...
Ah, now you've tried the Brewdog again you like it eh! :thumb:
I'll have to get a couple more myself, haven't had one for a month or so. :drink:
There's a book about called "Square Foot Gardening" and some links and bits on the RHS ans Soil Society sites. I t advocates using a 12sqft area sectioned-off to grow different veg/fruit. Have a look, it might be up your street. :thumb:
Yes sorted it out. Emptied the keg, cleaned and then refilled.
I'll be putting them in the garage in the next couple of days (the Crossbreed too)
I've just got the Exmoor Gold clone (I'm calling Sandyback Gold)
Have you ordered a hop sack? I have three and you're welcome to have one if you...
How many do you think you need?
I reckon I could get 8 in my car if they let me take that many. That's sufficient for (calculator out) 12*8=96 bottles. :drink: :drunk:
BrewStew, went to the pop company about the crates but alas they finish early on a Friday. I'll try to get there earlier next week.
Will keep you posted :thumb:

So if I charge them up a bit they should be ok?
I'll taste again in a few days.
Thanks for the advise on low pressure sealing. I'll keep that in mind and check in future. :thumb: :thumb:
I bought them from Norm over 2 months ago and he'd charged them up. I had to fully release the gas (and there was alot) before I cleaned and then reassembled so I'm quite confident they're ok.
After tasting it's still sweet from the priming sugar though.
I'm testing whether they leak though...
Ended-up putting the Twin Rhombus into 9L cornies later than Wez (Sunday), one as-is the other with 3g Goldings dry hops. Primed but doesn't seem to be making any conditioning gas after 3 days :?
If I leave it longer and it's still the same can I add some yeast to eat up the priming sugar and...
