    4.5 day week.

Most of my family were teachers, several good friends are teachers and I myself taught (admittedly not at school level) for over a decade and I can testify to this.

    Electric cars.

Fair enough, but doesn’t that go counter to the concerns you raised about employment in your previous post?

    Electric cars.

The transition from horses to automobiles took place over a period of about 40 years. ICE were derided as a novelty that couldn’t possibly be of mainstream use, much like early EV. If we consider that the release of the first gen Nissan leaf in 2010 signals the start of mainstream adoption I...

    Electric cars.

I’ll make clear that my reply is slightly tongue in cheek and certainly not representative of my own views. I’m sure that many who voice anti-immigration sentiment would gladly welcome an opportunity to retrain all these “native” workers to replace all the sponging foreigners currently...

Honestly, who cares. The same could’ve been said when ICE was introduced. Think of the poor ostlers, cartwights, whelelrights, coaching Inn owners and associated staff, dung shovelers, hay salesman. Stuff changes, certain jobs become redundant to society.

Nothing to do with a Labour Government. I worked in education for many years and my wife has always worked in NHS, both public sector and so would have been easy to add electric chargers for staff and / or patients. 14 years of Tory rule, did they lead the way by installing these chargers? Did...

    Stout popularity soars.

Just discovered this tonight and you’re spot on, it’s a really nice drop.

They’re the questions that I was asked. They wouldn’t complete the switch until they had confirmed a quick test charge of the car too.

    1. Yes - NHS lease for my wife 2. We will do another NHS lease when we have to hand back Audi Q4 3. / 4. I have a small ICE, as soon as funds allow I’d like to purchase a small EV, 150 - 200 mile range ish.

Free gas. 18 litre corny fill instead of 19?

Collect the CO2 whilst fermenting in a corny in a second corny, then use that collected CO2 to dispense the finished beer? Effectively you’d be making your own CO2 cylinder.

Small beer: Study calls on government to shrink pints

You’re wrong. https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/media/5a7f069140f0b6230268d059/Adult_obesity_and_type_2_diabetes_.pdf If you can’t be bothered to read anything else, just read the opening paragraph of the summary. https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/34986330/...

    Covid

You are wilfully misunderstanding my point. The experience of an individual does not take precedent over the observation of the wider population. i.e. a RCT of 1000 individuals and the data that produces trumps the experience or you, your family or your mate Dave.

    Covid

I once licked the bottom of my shoe to prove a point (don’t ask why, it was a very long time ago) and I didn’t get sick so I recommend that everyone does it as there’s clearly no risk, in fact it might even have health benefits! You stick to conjecture and subjective experience, I’ll stick to...

Small beer: Study calls on government to shrink pints

A colossal amount of calories though. If you want to end up obese with type 2 diabetes beer is the best alcohol to help you achieve that aim.

The only choice you have now is between the measure the are allowed by law so there’s no difference, if the size of one of those measures changes you still have the same number of options, all of which are controlled and regulated. It’s like you’re looking for something to riled up about.

Yup, every time. A gratuity is at my discretion so I always remove it if automatically added. In fact it annoys me so much that it often stops me leaving anything.

How many brothers & sisters do you have.

1980 3 half, although much older than me and never lived with them.
