Greetings from Swindon - what kit I should buy next?

Hi, everyone, I made beer using Brooklyn Brewery, Pinter and now bought basic kit with fermenting buckets, siphons, air lock etc. Found making from the grain small batches (10 pints) is not effective for me, concluded that Pinter is a great for the first couple of brews, but then water collects...

...fermentation to take about 14 days but if it takes 7 or takes 20 then that’s fine too. Adding a little warm water to your cold water in your Pinter will lift the temperature, even if the temperature is still a bit low fermentation will just be slow to start and will pick up over a few hours...

    First attempt at Apple Cider

I've done the same but in a Pinter, well 2 Pinters, been on 7 days so far. I've no idea which to tell if fermented out as my iSpindel died an untimely death. Anyone have any idea how long fermentation under pressure will take? Used MJ cider yeast.

    ispindle Problem.

...Who ever invented pressure fermenting anyway. Fryer Tuck never used it anyway so why should I? I`m going to go back to basics and brew in a Pinter! Ok so I only get 10 pints.....well 7 pints after all the froth but that still only works out at £1.95p per pint. Less is more they...

Small batch BIAB with Pinter for fermentation

Hi, Newbie here. Currently own a few pinters and a pinter 2. Being a little disappointed with some of the results I am thinking of giving BIAB a bash. Initially I'm thinking of a small batch, 5 litres, just to test the water, and would invest in some bigger equipment if all is well and I...

MiniBrew Smart Beer Machine? Anyone has experience with it?

I ordered mine a very long time ago and it did eventually turn up recently (much more than a year wait). I also ordered more smart kegs and brew packs, at the same time, which turned up very quickly, which was highly annoying! First two brews have failed, from which I learnt two things 1) it...

MiniBrew Smart Beer Machine? Anyone has experience with it?

I am still toying with the idea of buying MiniBrew CRAFT GEN 3 - I like how small it is, but does it make good beer and ale? I tried Pinter before, the results were great when it worked, but it was messy when it did not not (though the experience led me into brewing) Since I struggle giving away...

    Thoughts on pewter tankards

Too many Tankards, I've been banned from collecting. Half pint through to two Pinter and one to keep the wasps out. That earthenware stein with a lid is pretty rough to drink out of

    Maximum pitching temperature

...on here, I've scoured many a topic and had lots of valuable info. I'm back to brewing extract kits after returning to buckets from the Pinter 2.1 debacle. I've noticed that some of the instructions are saying to add the malt extract then 3.5 litres of boiling water then top up with cold...

I've got a few pinters around the place which I transfer the brew too if low on bottles with 35 g of sugar. It carbonates lovely too. Cheers Pete

May the seed of your... what? What's a Pinter? Never come across one of those. A quick googling seems to indicate you pour some kind of kit into it and it creates beer without venting gas. That can't be right. Are they any good?

    Another new member

Hi everyone, I'm Ross and I've just joined. Been pottering about with Brew in a bag, brew in box, etc. Even tried Pinter, ( not a great experience there ). I've managed to come by a used Grainfather S30, and whilst it's still on its way to me, I thought I'd join up and see what hints and tips...

    Pinter

Hi everyone, I've got a question about Pinters, having just been given one as an early Father's day present I've looked online for the brew kits to use in them and wasn't best pleased with the prices, so my question is as anyone scaled-down a 23 ltr kit to suit the pinter if so what are the best...

    Milk

Well the old saying "you learn something every day" is spot on for me today. ashock1 What is organic cow’s milk? How is it different from the conventional, non-organic kind? They might seem much the same as they fill your breakfast bowls, but there’s more to organic dairy than meets the...

    Hoppiest IPA without dry hopping

Hey all I have a few friends who all use the Pinter systems and I’m looking at brewing a 40 pint all grain batch and I’m going to fill each of their pinters with 10 pints each. For my beer I just add a load of hops to the fermenter but can’t with the Pinter as it’s a closed pressure...

    Maximum pitching temperature

Boiling water is not necessary. I've found that dme mixes in very well at 150f/65c, which would get you to a better pitching temperature. I'm guessing lme would also.
