    C.D.'s Brewery.

What a setup. Could you talk more about what you brew on it? Do you drink the same beer for 3 months or do you modify the wort for a slight variation in each keg?

Can anyone recommend a decent lager kit?

I’ve had Wilko Mexican Cerveza in the FV for just over a week now, sample jar already tastes delicious. I brewed it to 20L with 500g light and 500g sugar. I would give it a go at 2 gallons with just the can, at worst you lose £12

Cheers fireside, I understand the maths i just thought for such a simple algorithm that brewers friend would have a simple “change Brew size” option but I cannot find it so perhaps they don’t.

Ok, brew 1, the american ipa was bottled yesterday. Plan is to dry hop the cerveza on Monday. Brew 3, a bulldog evil dog is in the FV and bubbling nicely. I have ordered the wilko 12(15L) stock pot, a nylon bag and £40 worth of hops and malt from get er brewed. Planning to do a mosaic smash...

    Is fermentation finished or stuck?

Ok, 12 hours after pitching a new yeast pack it is down to 1.015 with not much activity but at least it is moving. I’ve stirred it in (went out earlier and forgot!) and have had a few bubbles, but may just be the dissolved co2 escaping due to stirring. I will be leaving it along now and hoping...

    Is fermentation finished or stuck?

Thanks for taking the time to reply. I stirred last night and there has been no activity at all. The postie has brought me a 10g crossmyloof American ale yeast that I have pitched straight in, will give it an hour and then stir it in. Probably could have put half a pack in but I’m probably over...

    Is fermentation finished or stuck?

Coopers brew a american ipa went into the FV on 15/6/20 (6 days) Yeast pitched at 22 degrees by sprinkling on top and FV ambient temp kept at 18-20 degrees. OG 1.051 No bubbling for 36 hours then good Krausen and lots of bubbling for about 24 hours and then nothing, maybe one bubble every 10...

Anyone know how to take the apostrophe out of the title? I thought it wouldn’t bother me but it does.

Wow, less than 12 hours in the FV and the cerveza is nearly continuously bubbling. I followed the kit instructions to stir in the yeast, rather than sprinkle on top as coopers say to do and it seems to have made a big difference.

Second brew kit, a wilko cerveza, gone in a second bucket today with 500g xldme and 500g sugar. all went smoothly except this time I dropped the yeast packet into the FV, doh! And I used 2 kettles of boiling water which gave me a 30 degree wort which I had to wait for, Pitched at 26 degree and...

Thanks Banbeer, that’s a good guide to adding it. I was a little worried about boiling water straight into plastic FV though, probably not an issue though. Any experience with how long the coopers yeast takes to start?

    Surfingobo’s brew day’s

Hi all First brew down here in sunny Somerset today. A coopers brew A IPA kit. First off had to drill a hole for the bucket tap. May have drilled it a bit low as I have to rotate the tap to get the bucket to sit flat, but it’s not the end of the world. Then mixed the can with 2L water out of...

First ever Brew - Cooper’s Brew A IPA

Thanks banbeer so would you go 500g light 500g sugar or 500g light 1kg sugar? is it mostly a colour thing or does it change taste using a darker spray malt?

First ever Brew - Cooper’s Brew A IPA

Hi all Getting ready for my first brew, got everything arriving from brew2bottle today but they didn’t have any malt extract in stock which I understand is recommended to be added to this kit. My plan is to add 500g light and 500g medium spray malt from wilko to this brew along with 500g...
