I don't think you need a PayPal account to use them to make a payment. You can usually opt to pay with a credit or debit card via a link on the landing page. Not sure if this will be acceptable to you either but thought it worth mentioning.

Connecting Wort Chiller to modern style tap

Purchased this from another seller and it's the correct item. Screws into Hozelock tap adapter and now I can flush 3/8 and 3/16 Lines (via JG reducer). This is great for being able to loosen up any sticky beer with hot water before properly cleaning and sanitising...

Connecting Wort Chiller to modern style tap

Hi. I tried to buy a John Guest attachment that I could attach to the Hozelock adapter that would then accept 3/8 gas beer line. I thought this would be great for flushing with hot water but the fitting they sent is the wrong size. It's not even 3/16 unfortunately. I saw them on Amazon but a...

Connecting Wort Chiller to modern style tap

I have ones of these. I just unscrew the filter from my kitchen mixer tap and screw this on. It's particularly useful for filling FV's and Corny's with hot water via a hose when cleaning. https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B0034G5NR2?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title

First All Grain BIAB Brewday water treatment worries!

Yep, this first batch better than most the beers on offer in my local. Bought enough grain for two brews so am doing the remainder this week. Should be OK for New Year. Am going to start looking for another recipe now, probably a stout. Any recipes you'd recommend? I'll drink most styles. Not a...

First All Grain BIAB Brewday water treatment worries!

Hi, Just thought I'd post an update to let you know how everything went. After adding a whole sachet of S-04 yeast (perhaps half would have done) the FV went into the brew fridge and fermentation started almost straight away. Four days later everything seemed to have stopped so I took a...

First All Grain BIAB Brewday water treatment worries!

Hi Rod. Yes, next time if I come up short I'll definitely be ready to add some water. Wort looked OK once it had settled. It seemed cloudy originally from the grains and hops but it did clear. Have just been out to the shed to check on it actually. It had been bubbling away at 18 degrees for a...

First All Grain BIAB Brewday water treatment worries!

Hi all, Well Saturday was my first BIAB day and I think all went OK. The 17L stock pot I had bought was the perfect size for 2.5 kilo grain bill and 6 litres of mash liquor. It fitted into my pre-warmed oven which maintained the mash temp to within a couple of degrees over the 90 minutes, even...

Admin: Please delete this and the next post. I screwed up adding images and have started from scratch as just editing alone wouldn't allow me to add the photos back!

Thanks foxy. Hi Hengoedbrewer. I'm probably trying to run before I can walk but I'm enjoying myself! Really looking forward to tomorrow. Will take a few photos and if all goes well I'll post a couple along with my thoughts on all grain brewday #1

First All Grain BIAB Brewday water treatment worries!

Hi Mick, The Pale Malt is seperate from the Crystal and Chocolate which are mixed but are of a similar amount so think it will be fine. I'm in a hard water area so will use the Ashbeck untreated as advised till I feel the need to experiment! Cheers.

First All Grain BIAB Brewday water treatment worries!

Was I supposed to add the grain bill to the profile? I missed that. I purchased the ingredients for the 19 litre version the of this recipe: https://photos.app.goo.gl/J9N9P61u2VS13RkS6 I'm halving everything but mashing for 90 mins and boiling for 90 mins. I take it this is correct?

First All Grain BIAB Brewday water treatment worries!

Hi. OK, it seems my fears are unwarranted and I'll brew tomorrow without treating any water. My first BIAB day is bound to throw up other issues to keep me busy anyway! Thanks everyone for you input.

The Ashbeck water states its PH as 6.2 so don't I at least want to lower this to 5.2?

First All Grain BIAB Brewday water treatment worries!

Hi Matt76, Thanks for the reply. Yes, I appreciate it's early days and that I could easily brew a perfectly acceptable beer without treating the water but was still hoping someone could make sense of the profile on Brewers Friend for me. If the water just requires a little gypsum or something...

First All Grain BIAB Brewday water treatment worries!

Hi all, I've been lurking here for a while now attempting to hoover up all the accumulated knowledge before I attempted my first stove top all grain BIAB but I've hit a brick wall and need a little help! The background to all this was my better half thinking it would be a good idea to buy me...

    Brew kettles

Hi. Having read this thread I decided I wanted to progress to All Grain via the Klarstein. Have only recently got back into brewing after 30 years (SO much has changed) and want to do more than just kits. I was going to buy the 30L but unfortunately I waited till Monday and the price went up...
