Review time.. don’t bother... Ioad of rubbish. Cheap Chinese plastics rubbish and doesn’t come with a power adapter. Was told that the power adapters are sold separately and will be 2 weeks as from China. It’s going back unused. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Is this normal?

I must do the list, that's sensible. A bit too sensible for me, but I'll have a play at being a grown up for a bit. Drinking while brewing? That's the only reason I brew! A sober brew day is..... well I don't know what it is! It's never happened lol.

    Is this normal?

Thanks for the information, I'm going to need to read it properly to digest it. All the recipes I've seen talk about IG, so Brix is just something else to confuse things. And that calculator seems to only work in Brix.

Drilling through the side of the fridge...

This is a nice idea.. I like it. Being a tall fridge, it would mean more gas line. But that’s okay. Well thinking about it, I could store the gas on top of the fridge out of the way.. hmm.

    Is this normal?

I have absolutely no idea what you just said.. so I’m gonna go with no! Lol. Should I do something special? First time I’ve used a refractomer! [emoji3][emoji3] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    You think it's still going?

    Is this normal?

So.. I've just checked it on the refractometer. It's sitting at 1017.. which seems pretty high. Do you think it's stuck? I missed OG by a country mile, and started at 1039 (was meant to be 1046). So if it's done all it can, it's good for the drain. You think I should give it a mix up and see if...

    Burco Cygnet 30L Boiler.... thoughts?

I saw this on the for sale section. Problem is I have ZERO faith in couriers. I just recently purchased a boiler from a member, and was really keen to get brewing with it.. to find out the courier delivered a day late and in more then many pieces! So I've ended up with junk fit for the bin. Not...

    Burco Cygnet 30L Boiler.... thoughts?

For the sake of £95 I think I'll take a chance on the Buffalo 40L. But I won't hit the button until after the weekend to give you guys the chance to talk me into / out of it.

    Burco Cygnet 30L Boiler.... thoughts?

The Buffalo is the other boiler on the other post I saw, and the general reviews were that it wasn't very good. Poor quality and more expensive... That said, the extra capacity sounds like it's going to be a life saver.

    Is this normal?

Nice! Other than missing OG by about a country mile, forgetting the bitter orange peel AND the the corriander seeds.... Maybe, it'll be an okay beer. But it's likely to come in at around 4% and probably be pretty bland.

    Is this normal?

Took a peak at the wheat beer I did last weekend.... primary has just about finished and the cryzon has dissipated leaving this. Is this that infection I hear people speak of? Or am I just being stupid?

    Burco Cygnet 30L Boiler.... thoughts?

http://www.thehomebrewforum.co.uk/showthread.php?t=58412&page=1 Found this... but still interested in additional thoughts if you guys have any? I read conflicting reviews.. some people saying they can't get a rolling boil and some saying that it's too rough and boils like a devil. I have an...

Drilling through the side of the fridge...

Some nice ideas here.. thanks guys. Something I'll have to conquer next weekend, as I've got 2 beers on route from FV and almost ready for kegs.

    Burco Cygnet 30L Boiler.... thoughts?

Hey Guys, Anyone used these for their brews? They are very reasonably priced... But I'm concerned that on the description they claim to have a temperature range of 0-98c. Wort, with it's sugar content normally gets to a rolling boil above 100c.. so are these capable of boiling wort? Cheers

Drilling through the side of the fridge...

Anyone done this? I have a tall lader fridge as my kegerator. At the moment I've got just one keg and the CO2 inside. But I have fitted two taps, and as such I'd like to put another beer on. The problem is, there is just no room for the two corn kegs and the CO2... so I'm thinking to store...

And maybe a stick that puts additional funds there... like a wand? I wouldn't mind one either. I think I've sorted the water issue now. I've got a pump from the BH Black Friday Deals.. best purchase ever! and I just the other day bought a flow meter and solenoid valve on amazon.. which...

Oh right. What range should the PH of the mash be in? Similar to that of the water?

    Efficiency

I have some PH Strips. Just tested... My water is PH 7. The kit says it's middle of the road, and pretty neutral. I have been using Campden tablets though, as I read that all water companies use chlorine. Do you think there is anything else I should do with the water?

    Efficiency

I'm using a Mash Tun, and I suspect that a lot of my efficiency issues are relating to water quantities.. Ending up with too much / not enough in the boil kettle. Then I've also had issues getting a rolling boil, I can get to a strong simmer,, but not a rolling boil. I can't get it hot enough...
