    Swap - German wheat beer

Perfect! I'm entering my wheat beer phase at the moment and wouldn't mind tasting a good one. Maybe even pinching the recipe :D I have a "back to basics" IPA if you'd like one? Just been kegged, was in the FV for 3 weeks and looks almost crystal. Or I've got a double IPA which is already...

Can I send someone my beer?

Sorry, I didn't see page 2 when I responded. I'll post on the correct forum :) :thumb:

Can I send someone my beer?

I've just kegged my back to basics IPA. A real simple recipe.. happy to send some out. I'll bottle some off the keg with the pressure pet thingy. I'm still fairly beginner so would be very interested in feedback as to what I can do better or try different etc. PM me details and I'll get to...

    Brewers Friend or Beersmith

I tried both when I first started. I found that brewers friend was easy to use and easy to understand, whereas beersmith was like trying to stand up in a dingy! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    JonGaarden: The Saga

This may sound like a daft question, but how do I find out the diastatic power of these malts? Google is not sure, and they're not listed on BF.

Can I send someone my beer?

I am into IPA's and Wheat Beers myself. But happy to sample anything from others.

Can I send someone my beer?

Sure, I'm happy to wait. :thumb:

Can I send someone my beer?

Is there a thing here where we send each other a bottle or two of our brews? Like the guys on YouTube do? I'd be keen to hear some feedback on my brews, and also to taste other peoples brews... then if I taste some crackers I could have a go at making them.

    JonGaarden: The Saga

You've hit the nail on the head. This is a journey, to make the perfect (for me) WitBeer :) Trying different things is what it's all about.

    JonGaarden: The Saga

Love this guy, his videos really kick started my brewing. It's his recipe I've followed here as best I can. I think I've seen that video about 10 times :) Any benefit to adding more ireks than clear choice? Is it just to get the correct colour?

    JonGaarden: The Saga

I remember reading elsewhere that witbeer's generally get lower efficiency. Maybe I should reduce the efficiency of the recipe to account for this? Interesting that you mention that WB-06 is potentially unsuitable. I do have a WYeast 3787 Trappist High Gravity Yeast, which I was saving for a...

    JonGaarden: The Saga

Interesting. Maybe 50% Ireks and 50% Clear Choice Pale?

    JonGaarden: The Saga

Hey Guys, As I may have mentioned in another thread, 2018 is a witbeer year for me. I am determined to conquer a hoegaarden style clone. https://www.brewersfriend.com/homebrew/recipe/view/588511/jongaarden I have knocked together this recipe as a starter for 10, but I'm interesting in...

    Chronical

I love the idea of this. But I am still working on making a beer which justifies sitting in three cornies. At the moment, if one is rubbish I only lose 20L and not 60L.

    Chronical

Oh I thought I saw it for 1200 on brew uk, but I could be wrong. Either way it's a lot more than a FS.

    Chronical

I have been looking at the chronical, and it looks awesome. But expensive, very expensive. I have a fermentasaurus which is great, but I love the idea of the add on chiller and heater available for the chronical. If there were an integrated heating and chilling system for the fermentasaurus it...

What's the most you've paid for a beer?

I once paid £20 for a bottle of rare Italian Craft Beer at Zumo in Selfridges Birmingham. It was rough, barely drinkable!

    Your brew plans for 2018

I plan to nail a hoegarden style wit beer, without it tasting like gone off orange juice :D My IPA's are starting to taste nice, and I think I've managed to sort out my efficiency a little in the last few brews thanks to the great advice on this forum. So the end of 2017 was a bit of a brewing...

Hot Break. Stir it in or scrape it off?

Some very interesting points here. The brew I did on Thursday was a slightly different one for me, in that actually sucked the lot into the FV.. because I'm using the fermentasaurus for this one, I thought what the hell... I'll just save time faffing and chuck the lot into the FV, and then use...

Hot Break. Stir it in or scrape it off?

I thought the hot break was the coagulation of proteins which form due to the rolling effect of the boil. That's what I read anyway. I was referring to the alien life form which forms strange islands on the top of the wort, not the foam. I stir the foam back in.
