    Brew fridge first outing

My shelves fit where the salad box would be, flush with the compressor bulkhead.

    Brew fridge first outing

Hi Danny, Good luck with it all. Just noticed on your pic that the shelf appears to be the original glass shelf? If so be very careful, maybe ok for the 15l you've got there but if you went to 23l = 23 kilos will be too much for the glass shelf. Build yourself a timber one to be on the safe...

    Brew Fridge

Hi Gaz, Be careful with the two gang switch, normal ones only have one set of terminals to feed both sockets, with this set up you need separate sockets, one to feed heating and one for cooling as the controller switches from one mode to the other.

    Brew Fridge

60 watt tube in one and 40 in the other. Amazon or Fleabay.

    Brew fridge first outing

Hi Danny, Coming back to brewing for the forth time in forty years and been through the chemists kits of the 70's and 80's through to malt extract recipes and now on all grain with a shiny Grainfather. The piece of kit that has made the biggest difference has been the brew fridge, to be able...

    Brew Fridge

Hi Geezy, I have two fridges, one with STC and another just come on line with the 308. Has to be the 308, as has been already said, the price is very similar. The 308 looks and feels superior and has better controls, you can set different heating and cooling variations, with the STC one...

    Latest giveaway from Inkbird

Thanks for that Logical, I have it totally wrapped in foam and seems ok now and seems not as affected by the heating/cooling overruns. If that's not working I will try your idea, Ta! Cheers

    Latest giveaway from Inkbird

I was unlucky in the draw but like Crocodile I received mine via Amazon Prime. Questions, is the probe meant to sit in the wort or outside? I have mine out but the control swings from heating to cooling and back again. Maybe I need to bubble wrap it? Cheers.

    Cheap Beer Kits

Thanks to all for taking time to give your thoughts and advise. I, like Lesinge am looking for ways to vary kits when I don't have the time for an AG batch which I normally brew. I will peruse all your suggestions and decide which way to go. I have two kits brewing currently so that will be a...

    Cheap Beer Kits

Would members be kind and tell me the best, cheap kits they have used. Money is not the object of this request, I am intrigued to know if modern kits are better than the ones I used back in the 80's. Also any tweaks you have used to improve the finished product. I am interested in bitters...

    MaltMiller`s Service...Shocking

I also have used the Malt Miller and The Homebrew Company, both top notch but I have still to find a better supplier than The Homebrew Shop in Aldershot. I go to the others if I can't get what I want there, they are top of my supplier list.

Ok, Notlaw it's yours but must go by next week. I will only be in on Friday next week, away from mid afternoon til late Sunday, I hope Friday is ok?

    Summat for nowt.

Bottle cooler to give away. Acquired it from a closed pub, being a Yorkshireman didn't want to let it go just incase and thought I could convert to a brew cabinet. The problem is it doesn't take a fermenting bin and won't take a Corny stood up so has to go to make room for another brew fridge...

    Controlling fermentation temperature

Mine's a larder fridge with a 60w greenhouse tube header. The STC1000 keeps it at the required temperature. Works a treat and you can set to crash cool temperature and switch of the heater output.
