    Nearly my final question - promise :D I plan to do a few brews, how much yeast should I start off with in each of my 2 litre starters ( the bottle will be 2 litre at least and I think about a litre inside or don't I need as much ) ?

    re-pitch?

    Take a sample away to test , dilute it with water about the same temp as not to shock the yeast and add some sugar, if it starts frothing then it's still alive :)

    How does EKG compare to Saaz hops fOr floral flavour ? I ask as I did a bitter kit can and didn't like it so dry hopped in primary with some SAAZ hops and liked he floral taste when I had a test pint, when I went to bottle the next day it wasn't so pungent so made up a generous hop tea of 40+...

    How long should I have a starter going for + how often should i burp the bottle to get it fresh air, or can I leave the cap off ?

    I would be doing a 23-25 litre batch so obviously times the grain bill by 2.5 but do I do the same for the hops aswell ?

    Evening all After seeing a few single hop brews I was hoping to do it myself. I'd like to get a 25kg bag of pale malt eg marries otter and do 5+ brews from it all with the hops you suggest/pick I have only done 1 AG brew so far so if you lovely formites could help me to get these recipes...

    Welcome, I will personally suggest that you don't keep opening up your FV's (fermenting vessels) to take gravity readings every couple days as you risk infection. Follow the 2-2-2 method 2 weeks in primary - check gravity reading has gone down to what the yeast your using should - if so...
