    Polytunnel

I think that may be the issue. The beds were only made last year and I didn't have a lot of compost to share out between them. I used some leaf mold and old peat from a local dumped pile to amend the clay soil, but is probably lacking in nitrogen from the old leaves. Worms are doing well so with...

    Polytunnel

I haven't had much success with my garlic. The ones I planted last year didn't do so much and were very small, so I left them in. Up pops little groups of sprouts this year so when large enough I lifted and divided them, planting in rows. Some have done well, but some have just stayed small, so...

    Don't trust eBay sellers.

It really is buyer beware on Ebay. I buy most things from Ebay and have had my fair share of dodgy traders, but on the whole I get good service and you remember the good sellers. I've had sellers back out of auction sales because they wanted more for it. I've had stainless steel nuts and bolts...

    Capping glass bottles

I just use them to identify what is in them. I only put cider in cider bottles. I find I am getting lazy in labelling, so am now labelling the crate or box with the whole brewing info rather than the individual bottles. Wine still gets labels.

    More Facebook leaks

I have just started using facebook purely because of the groups format - and everyone is using it. Consequently my name is not my own, I live in Southern Canada, and my hobbies are surfing and ping pong. :laugh8: One thing my computing course taught me - rubbish in-rubbish out.

    Capping glass bottles

Bench capper and Wychwood and Magners bottles work for me. Magners for cider obviously.

    Keykegs

Ouch! What I was wondering is if they can be cleaned properly before refilling? Or do they change the bag before refilling? Also wonder if they have any tests on the outer cylinder in case they split or burst from handling damage.

    Keykegs

All things Keykeg. What are they, how to use them, and can we re-use them? "Ideal for homebrew" as one ebay seller says or a pain to dispose of as one bar found? Seems to be like a giant "sub" using a bag in a pressurised cylinder - but can we re-use them? Has anyone tried?

    Fruit scones

You can go off some people you know. :laugh8:

    Fruit scones

And remember, the proper way to eat them is with Clotted cream first, then strawberry jam on top. My wife says it is jam first then cream, but I say this is nonsense and grounds for divorce.

    Hop Growing in the garden

Mine stayed small in the first year from seed, lots of leaf but very thin vines. Almost a houseplant. Looks like they save the energy in the roots so the more leaf area you get the more they will grow next year. Cut back to ground level after the first year as they sprout from the base. Think I...

5 foods you will never eat again.

"Pasycho Juice" ghost pepper chilli sauce. - Ruins just about anything I have tried it in. Now I'm keeping it as a chemical weapon against anything that eats my cabbages.
