    Freemasonry

:laugh8: im pleased to say there’s no goats involved! I did hear at some point that ‘riding the goat’ or something was an old saying for being up to no good... again, a bit OTT when you realise most people turn up for the booze

    Freemasonry

wow I’ve just had a google of that and bookmarked for reading later on. Definitely not my experience which is more what Milesey is saying - not that exciting! Usually just a good opportunity to hear bad jokes, have some food and plenty of ale! Im not sure if I’m cut out for P2 :laugh8:

    Freemasonry

I think I struck lucky with Lodge and Hall, whilst both are much older than me It’s full of decent chaps (with the usual exception or two!). A shame you didn’t enjoy it enough to stay but who knows what the future might bring!

    Freemasonry

Just wondering if there are any other Freemasons on here (cue the ‘it’s a secret’) comments. Strange old time at the moment with no Lodge or Chapter meetings so thought it might be a good idea to discover other members and perhaps come up with a themed beer!

    Stargazing

I bought this One a couple of years ago but to be honest haven’t used it a great deal having not had the time (it’s more difficult than it sounds). I did a lot of research and it comes with a couple of lenses But you may need a dark lense dependent on conditions.

High Gravity Beers from All in One Systems

Thanks Steve, so I guess brewzilla would work just as well? (I know those comparison threads come up all the time!). I would get a GF if there was a major benefit for higher brews Just for the flexibility. i would like to do a RIS eventually, don’t suppose you know if there has been much...

High Gravity Beers from All in One Systems

Hi all, I’m looking at getting a robobrew or grainfather But do enjoy drinking Belgian ales (etc). I understand that all in one systems are quite limiting for this kind of brew. Does anyone have any thoughts or experience on whether it’s (easily) possible to use either of those two systems for...

ANGEL HOMEBREW - Robobrew Brewzilla v3.1.1 On Preorder

Hi Paul, I sent you a message last night which you kindly replied to. Does this machine need a bag for the grain as opposed to the bucket you can lift out?

    New nanobrewery coming along

Have you considered setting up as a limited company? Mainly for liability reasons but there will be tax savings as well. This is the king of industry where if something goes wrong you’ll be glad of the limited liability! edited to say sorry I’m a bore as this is great, just want to make sure...

    Coopers Irish Stout Review

Morning all, bottled this 2 weeks ago with 0.5tbsp granulated sugar per bottle. Tried my 2 week test and there was no head to speak of but a pleasantly low level of carbonation. I did have it in the fridge overnight though so might that be the reason for no head?

    Greg Hughes Belgian Beers

I’ll have to pull the book out when I get a mo’ as like Pilgrim I’ve got some Mangrive Jack dry belgian yeasts. Mainly because I’m new to AG and couldn’t justify the cost -or understand- liquid.

    Greg Hughes Belgian Beers

Okay great. I think you’re right about a bit of laziness, the descriptions aren’t great e.g. The Abbey Beer just saying something along the lines of ‘a style like those brewed in Abbeys’ that then threw me when I saw other beers that also fit that description! im doing the blonde when the FV is...

    Greg Hughes Belgian Beers

Hi Chthon, that was my understanding but I’m looking to understand the recipes in the book.

    Greg Hughes Belgian Beers

Thanks Prog! There is a brief description at the top of each page but in some circumstances (Abbey beer) it doesn’t talk about the beer profile at all.

    Greg Hughes Belgian Beers

Hi all, Im doing my first forays into all grain and one of the beers I’ve planned (and ordered) is Belgian Blonde ale from the Greg Hughes book but now that I’m going through the book for the umpteenth time I note there is: abbey beer, Belgian blonde, Belgian Dubbel, Belgian triple and Belgian...
