I tried step mashing a wheat beer and it burnt to hell on the element. My whole 24L batch went straight down the drain due to tasting burnt. Never step mashed again.

I think they chip away at the process and ingredients a little at a time. One change is probably not easily noticeable but numerous changes over time will make the beer bland and not worth drinking.

Great calculator Steve! I just worked out a Bitter I brewed using GW calculator and the result was almost identical. Just 0.5ml less CRS with yours, gypsum the same. Maybe because yours takes into account the crystal malt. Just one thing, what sulphate / chloride ratio do you use for English...

It runs at 300w Which is 1.25 Amp, so 3 Amp fuse should be correct. I wouldn’t go any bigger than 5 Amp.
