    AG stout - conditioning time

I bottled up my second all grain nearly two weeks ago, and have left it in my fermentation chamber at 20c, primed 500ml bottles with half a teaspoon brewing sugar. I forgot to check keynotes before posting this, but I had left it a couple of months before bottling. As this is only my second...

    No fermentation

Also, only a simple idea, but have you checked for a good seal around the fv, if there is a leak , the airlock won't bubble.

    Pear wine

Ahhh some brilliant posts here, I like reading all the different ideas people have, my wine is still happily bubbling away like a lava lamp, I too was quite careful to only put juice in the demijohn, or so I thought, there's a fair bit if pulp floating about. Won't be drinking mine for at least...

    Pear wine

Yes I think you could be right about the boil, a friend of mine made a batch two years ago, had a sample last week, it was clear, a bit darker than I would have thought, very strong but also sweet, I shall see how this turns out. I wanted to just throw something together that was simple, as I...

    Pear wine

Well I started this last weekend, used around 5lb pears, 3lb sugar, bit of nutrient and citric acid and a packed of out of date Muntons yeast, I think it was _GV3, but will check later. Description said for all sparkling and high alcohol white wines. Diced pears, bought to the boil in a gallon...

    Maple Beer (modified Kit) Photos

This should be interesting, once fermented, how long do you plan to condition before drinking one?

How long do you wait before drinking your brew

Beers, stouts, ales , lagers anything up to 1.5 years. Wines, still have some bottles which are over 3 years old. Forgetting about wine, generally I wait 6 months +

    It's foraging weekend!!!

I'm going to take a look again today to see what I can find, if I still have no luck with blackberries I will pick some more elderberries, and sloes (if they are ready). Sounds like there may be a bit of a contest here, see who can pick the most blackberries, and turn them into endless supplies...

    Advice needed -AG2 stuck ferment?

Ok I had a look at my notes, I took an OG reading when the wort was at 40c, after temperature correction the actual reading was 1.062, fg is 1.020, so I should end up with a sweetish chocolate oatmeal stout at around 5.5%abv I'm not sure whether it's worth pitching more yeast now, I may just...

    Barons - Pale Ale

Has anyone drank one of these yet, my local had the kit on offer for £20 so I am wondering if it's worth a go or not. Reading up reviews on the internet, people seem happy with them (while they are brewing) but I cannot really seem to find much on the finished product. Will post this on the...

    Advice needed -AG2 stuck ferment?

That's what I was thinking, I'm heading to my shop in a bit to grab some yeast for wines, so might attempt to pitch another yeast in this and see what happens. Once I get back and check my notes I will post the OG, I 'think' it was around 1.050, but I could be getting mixed up with something...
