    Changes to the highway code.

Slightly off topic but regards changes to the Highway Code, I passed a jogger on a dual carriageway yesterday, and I mean ON the dual carriageway, jogging. Should I have given way to him for a couple of miles until there was a pavement he could jog back onto? ;)

    Temperature control

i use an aquarium heater with an LED strip on the outside. I have verified the temp indicated on the strip with a thermometer so I am happy with that. Been brewing kits this way for years.

    Muntons Flagship Hazy IPA

I made this kit as per the instructions. At bottling, my routine is to add batch priming sugar solution to 2nd fv, siphon from primary fv as carefully as possible. I put one of the wire cages that come on champagne bottles inside the hop sock. This prevents the sock being drawn in towards the...

    Netflix vs Amazon Prime

I use AP both for prime free 1 day delivery and music. I haven't tried Netflix but one point that is important to me is that UHD is included in AP whereas Netflix charge £14.99 I think for UHD quality picture. Amazon music also have lots of ultra high quality streaming music and if you are...

    Evil Dog IPA

I've found this too with other Bulldog kits. Beers and cider. Came to to the conclusion it must be the yeast running out of oomph. I've never had an issue with other kits. I always batch prime same way as damienair. During first lockdown I made their Rajas Reward which has a reputation of...

Whats your favourite film and sound track?

Movie - The Green Mile. Not a massive film fan so no particular movie sound track for me but I really liked the music that featured in Life on Mars so much I bought the CD!

Razorback IPA - best kit ever !

Agreed. If you haven't already, give Mangrove Jack's Juicy IPA or Munton's Hazy IPA a go. They are also fab.

Adding carbonation drop to flat beer

80g for 20L seems a bit low to me. I usually allow 125g for 21L but we all have different tastes.

Adding carbonation drop to flat beer

You have a variety of suggestions here but you could try adding one carbonation drop to one bottle and see what happens rather than risk spoiling the entire batch. If you are using PET bottles, give them a squeeze to remove as much of the air in the headspace before capping. Keep your test...

    HomeBrew Club: Glasgow

Aye - could be. Lets see how this pans out. Don't have a lot of 'stock' at the moment - had a couple of 'fails' over the summer but just took delivery of a third FV yesterday for a pre festive boost to production.

New to brewing cider (advise need)

I've made MJ cider kits but supplemented with MJ Cider enhancer. I got this on Brew2Bottle. Maybe the link on lovebrewings site is linking to the wrong product in error. Anyway, like others have said, check the seal on the FV, check hydrometer and check temperature.

    Crumpled bottles

My suspicion is that the caps were not tight enough and although your bottles re- inflated with CO2 initially, as the pressure rose, the bottles didn't hold it. Then, when you put in fridge, as temp fell, the bottles crumpled. I think you could try again. Add your sugar, squeeze out the air...

Dry hopping experiment - good or bad idea?

I saw the 'premium' word and then jumped to the wrong conclusion! My intentions were good but my suggestion was not.

Dry hopping experiment - good or bad idea?

Did you use the hop teabag as durected with Bulldog kits? I always open these and put the pellets straight in to get more hoppy flavour.

    My Claim to Fame

In San Francisco, stumbled across the boat that was part of the set for Nash Bridges. Security let us in for a look and then told us to 'stand there, don't move, don't say anything, Mr Johnson is coming'. So we did as we were told and sure enough, Don Johnson duly strolled past us and onto the...
