    iSpindels

I used Ubidots for one brew, seemed to work ok. Then got a Nautilus iSpindel relay and just took one reading a day and plotted in Excel. Attached are examples. The iSpindel is a great tool for monitoring your brews.

    Hello from Glasgow

Welcome to the forum from another Stirling based brewer. Started off last year with a Pinter, but now transitioning to All Grain. Just got a Grain Father and can’t wait to get it up and running.

    Coffee

Never thought of it like that, but makes perfect sense. Thanks

    Coffee

London, did that for a while but couldn’t see the point, and virtually all of the coffee stays in the aeropress till plunged doing it the other way. Cheers W

    Coffee

I have an aeropress, have had it for years and recently purchased a replacement plunger as it was getting loose. Also replaced the paper fillers with a metal one. I bounce between grinding my beans and buying pre-ground. One thing I do is put in the water then add the plunger but don’t push it...

    PINTER beer system

Would love to see a picture of the set up. Can’t comment as to whether it will work, but can’t see why not.

    Bottle draining tree

Heard about this on last year’s Basic Brewing Radio Annual Brewing Disaster podcast. Always do it this way makes for a super easy clean up.

    Quick question about no boil

David Heath recommends staying away from temps over 81C as DMS flavour can result. Better to mash out as normal.

    Home tap water analysis

    Many thanks.

    Home tap water analysis

@Druncan how do you go about requesting a local water report. I live in Stirling. Thanks

Recommend me a low alcohol (1% or less) commercial brew

@Jim Brewster Clausthaler absolutely hits the spot, plus the labels just float off in warm water.

    Temperature control

Have an Inkbird for fermentation control of my fridge, but just purchased one of these to control a heat belt around my ale fermentation bucket. A standard STC1000 but all ready packaged ready to go and significantly under cuts Inkbird price. Elitech Pre-Wired Temperature... Elitech Pre-Wired...

    Air friers and the like

Spent 2 years living in Cyprus. Halloumi wrapped in bacon cooked in the air fryer and served with sweet chilli & hot honey dips are our go to party starter. Loved by all who have tried them.

    PINTER beer system

Trappist just to provide a different perspective, used mine over the break and for a New England IPA worked a treat, lovely brew minimum fuss.

Have a go at simple AG

Ozzy checkout . The Malt Millers do some good Mini Mash kits, extract & grain, the above video demos a brew.

    PINTER beer system

Sandimas agreed. I will probably move more towards AG over time

    PINTER beer system

Trappist agree, hence my caveat ‘supposedly unbiased’ I trust very few on social media, especially the influencers.

    Hi from Edinburgh

Lodainn I’d go bigger with the pot if you can. Argos do a relatively cheap 11L one. I find that is just sufficient for 1 Gallon batches. You can push things up if you do extract and steeped grains.

    Hi from Edinburgh

Lodainn, hi from Stirling. Likewise I have a Pinter 1 & 2 but have also moved on to All Grain. I have brewed a couple of small 1 gallon BIAB batches and now also have an all in one electric system that I will use when the weather improves.

    PINTER beer system

Stripey have made some great Pinter brews managing the cold side appropriately. I love all things brewing doing AG as well. For me the Pinter allows me to fit in brewing around a very busy schedule. I am trading money for time and convenience, much like traditional extract brewers do versus AG...
