    Just been testing out a plate heat exchanger - the side that the wort flows through has some nice quick release clamp connectors (Cam and groove I do believe) on the in and out which are superb with no leaks The other side that the water flows through how ever has these (pictured) connectors...

    Would you say recirdculation would be needed then as I was working on the assumption that I would need to cycle the beer round back into the kettle for a while until its temp is low enough to pitch yeast? I tend to make mostly stouts so no real need to whirl pool too often
