    Wine pouches with tap

I didn’t think they were that good, but I just wanted to check.

    Wine pouches with tap

Hi all, I’ve seen these advertised and wondered what people thought of them, and in particular are they any good and can they be used to replace bottles. https://brew2bottle.co.uk/products/3l-wine-pouch-tap

    MYO Red wine kit

I’m going to taste it again in a couple of days, to see what it’s like. If it’s palatable and not too sweet, I may very well bottle it. We’ll see what happens.

    MYO Red wine kit

At the risk of doing something daft, the wine now smells really nice. I’ve got two more days before I’ve got to bottle it, so I’ll taste it at that point and then make a decision. If it’s not very good, I’ll get another kit and start all over again.

    MYO Red wine kit

I think you’re right, I also think I’ve made a schoolboy error by ending the fermentation too soon.

    MYO Red wine kit

The thing is that it doesn’t taste sweet. It’s dry.

    MYO Red wine kit

If I’m honest, it doesn’t smell right. I’ll add the finings B later and see how it is tomorrow. One of the reasons I asked for advice on here was because I don’t remember it looking like that or smelling ‘not right’ either, and this would be my fourth batch of this particular wine. If it’s still...

    MYO Red wine kit

I think it’s okay. It tastes on the dry side, and the smell isn’t too bad. I’ve added the stabiliser and finings A, so we’ll see how it goes.

    MYO Red wine kit

I started off a red wine kit from the Range last Monday and checked it for the first time today. The SG was 1080 and the reading today was 1006, but does this look okay in the picture? It’s been a while since I’ve done a red wine kit and can’t remember what the last one looked like at this...

    Parsnip wine.

If I remember correctly it was ordinary granulated sugar. It came out like that because I followed the instructions on the website to the letter. I’ll probably add less sugar if I ever do it again.

    Parsnip wine.

I made this wine https://www.brewbitz.com/pages/parsnip-wine-reci in 2022 and decided to open a bottle this evening. It was bottled in July 2022, so it’s aged long enough to ‘assess its potential’. I bottled and corked it, and it’s been lying on the cork for 18 months or more. I did try a...

    The Range Red Wine kit

Well if this one comes out as well as the previous two, I’ll be very happy.

    The Range Red Wine kit

Thank you for the responses. I think I’ll be using dextrose this time. I’m sure I’ve used granulated sugar in the past, so it’ll be interesting to see how this comes out.

    The Range Red Wine kit

I’ve bought another 30 bottle red wine kit from the Range and will be starting it off in the next week or so. This will be the third time I’ve done this and I just wondered what the difference was between using either the advised 3.5kg of granulated sugar or using 4kg of dextrose sugar. I’m...

    The Range MYO Kits

I’ve done a couple of the MYO red wine kits and they’ve always come out really good. By following the instructions, I usually get a wine that’s around the 10.8 to 11.0%, but it certainly doesn’t taste like a wine of that abv. I think they’re tremendous value for money. I’ve also done the IPA and...

    The Range Red Wine Kit

I usually leave mine for about 4 to 6 months and found they do improve.

    The Range Red Wine Kit

I just think it’s pot luck whether you see it in the store or not. I’m in the South Wales valleys, and have three shops within about 30 minutes drive from me. If I need a particular kit, I drive to each store, in the hope that one of them will have what I’m looking for.

    The Range Red Wine Kit

I bottled the red wine kit from The Range on 4 July this year and tried the first bottle this evening. This is the second time I’ve done this kit. It’s a very nice wine, with a medium body, but it’s a lot dryer than the previous kit. This isn’t a criticism as it’s still a very nice wine, but I...

FREE DEMIJOHNS - SOUTH WALES COLLECT ONLY

Hello all, I’m having a bit of a clear out, and I’ve got 3 or 4 glass (3 clear and 1 brown glass) demijohns and 4 plastic demijohns that I no longer have room for. (I’ve still got quite a few after I get rid of these!) If anyone wants them, they can have them for free. I‘m in the Rhondda Valleys...
