    4.5kw Element for HLT/Kettle

Hi chaps, I'm gathering materials to make a 100l three vessel HERMS system. I was to avoid three phases electrics if I can. https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01D4U26YA/?tag=skimlinks_replacement-20 Would this element be something that could just have a three pin plug put on it and plugged into...

    100l Brewery Build

Hi guys, I'm moving house and finally getting a dedicated brewing space. No more brewing in the kitchen for me! Given the space I have I'm keen to make the most of it, so I'm looking at building a 100l electric 3 vessel Herm system. I just don't know where to begin. Things I've taken...

100l HERMS - Camlocks and ball valves

Hi guys, I'm in the planning stage of building a 100l EHERMS setup. I'm currently brewing on a 33l kit using 1/2 inch fittings. Do you guys think its worth increasing to 1 inch fitttings? If so, can anyone recommend a good supplier? Obviously will need a lot of ball valves. Cheers!

    Selling beer...

Right, Might be a bit mad, but I feel I'm making good beer. I'm finalising the recipes on a handful of solid session beers and a dirty egotistical side of my psyche would love to see my beer in a pub, being bought by people... I'm not too bothered about making money out of it. If I cover my...

NE IPA - Primary and dry hopping

Yeah, good point. I thought it mught be the dry hop but it could be the whirlpool addition too! Second pair of eyes is always welcome... I think I'll review and re brew... Thanks for the insight too. I think I'm going to try and make a yeast starter this time too...

NE IPA - Primary and dry hopping

A few weeks ago I re breweed my NE IPA recipe. My goal was to up the finished volume in the fermenter, improve the colour (it was a pretty grim grey brown colour) and smooth out the bitterness. I did the following; - reduced the 60min hops from 40g magnum to 30. - added an extra 5 litres...

    Herms brewing

So, small pump, kettle and inkbird and a length of copper would do the trick?

    Herms brewing

Would a normal kettle be able to deal with maintaining the temperature of nearly 30l of recirculating wort?

    Herms brewing

Cheers guys, this is really helpful. I'm a simple when it comes to the building side of things. Has anyone shared any builds of such a thing?

    Herms brewing

Never even thought about a separate vessel... That said, reckon I could use a removable coil that isnt fixed in the HLT? Do people use wort chillers to recirculate?

    Herms brewing

Hi guys, My kit is pretty mismatched. I use a 21l swan tea urn as an hlt, a big igloo chest cooler as a mash tun and a peco boiler as my kettle. I've made a decent amount of brews on the kit but I'm always looking to make the kit work harder. Question is, am I wasting my time fitting a...
