    The brew house is go!

It was actually the Carbon Smith blog that got me going!

    The brew house is go!

Ultimately I want to put a floor drain in but it's currently not in the Budget. I'm going to get some strong paint for the floor so I can mop. I've got a drain in a sink I'm installing which goes straight into the main house drains though so I can pour a fair bit of stuff away. I'll also...

    The brew house is go!

That I didn't know... I'm going to pay duty on the whole batch so would that be the issue sorted? Otherwise, could I brew my own stuff in the garden?

    The brew house is go!

Indeed. Exactly that. I'm brewing on my 5 gallon kit this weekend to refine a recipe.

Definitely! I'm still keeping my 5 gallon kit.

    Building a brewery...

I'm going to ferment in food grade plastic barrels. Not ideal, but a few small local breweries do it with no problem. I'm a big fan of three vessel. Allows things to move better. I'd be tempted to get a big cooler mash tun though. Not as pretty but it might assist keeping temp. At 50l I think...

    The brew house is go!

The frame is now up and insulation goes in tomorrow. Loads of snags holding things back (taking out sockets, leaving bought parts in B&Q etc). I just need to get the plasterboard on ASAP!

    Building a brewery...

I'm doing the exact same thing and I'm picking up a 3 vessel 200l system from Bridgewater on 12th August. The support I've had from Ivor (the guy who runs Bridgewater) has been great. I'd recommend dropping him a message or calling him.

    The brew house is go!

After finally buying the new house the brew house is underway. Planning on installing a 200l set up inside. Today we put up the battening for the insulation. Progress pictures below...

Yeast Starter - How big and how long?

So you could have all you need in 7l of starter (I know that's still huge)? Fetch me a desk fan! I've got a stir plate to build!

Yeast Starter - How big and how long?

Hi guys, I'm not far away from stepping up to a bigger kit (hopefully 200l should her in doors allow me sole use of the new garage) but the I tend to use liquid yeasts. Buying liquid yeasts for brew in that volume becomes pretty expensive and I feel that starters would be the way forward. I've...

    My new toy!

Would you recommend one of the cheaper ones then? I've never really got into the water chemistry side but I'm sure it's something I need to address.

    The Home Brew Company

I'm a massive fan of their custom mash kits. Great for recipe testing and zero waste. Great customer service. Couldn't recommend them more.

    Re bottling bottle conditioned beer

Beer comp requires two 500ml bottles I bottle in 330ml. Would it ruin my beer to re bottle some of my already conditioned stuff?

    Bottle Storage Question?

I rinse bottles after use, drain and put in a box in the kitchen. When the box is full, I clingfilm the whole box and more it to store. If you're going to clean them anyway I wouldn't worry too much.

    HERMs coil wanted

Hi guys, Unlikely that anyone just has one hanging around but I thought I'd check here first as I know some people start projects and don't finish. Looking for a 1/2" SS HERMS coil. If anyone has one or could recommend a place to get one let me know. Cheers!

    Sediment

My first all grain batch had alot of sediment and I assumed it was just par for the course. I went to bottling from a secondary fermenter with a syphon and bottling wand and now I get very little a part from a few spots of yeast. Get a second bucket. Stirring in your priming sugar into...
