    corny kegs

Just looking around online at corny kegs and noticed that there are pin and ball type systems. Are there problems with one or the other, or does it matter? If I am going to look into these systems, thought I might start looking for any problems in advance Cheers as always Dave

    small batch stout

In an attempt to make a better stout, I decided to try a Coopers stout kit, but brewing it at a smaller volume. My hope is that by making 3 gallons with a 1.7kg malt can and 500g of DME the final product will be a better pint than following the "can and a kilo" method and making 5 gallons. Don't...

    juice priming

I am not having much fun/success with the search option, so I will just ask the more informed on this forum instead. If I am making a cider and allow the yeast to run its course, one of the things I have read is that it can be kind of dry. I have read about back sweetening with unfermentable...

    Trying to understand...

Thanks. In time I will understand this to a greater degree (which should eliminate some of the daft questions ) but Im sure that I will have more.. . At his point I don't want large volumes, just want tasty beer, and then learn how to improve them. I am reading about 2 hours a day right now...

    Trying to understand...

Is there a calculation that I can use to figure out what weight of fermentables I would need (approx.) to make 3 gallons of 5(ish) % beer? I found a couple calculators that I cannot at this point figure out how to use, but it most likely has to do with my limited brewing knowledge. Im thinking...

    DME usage

WHen I have been reading about using DME, it seems the majority of what I have read has been about all grain brewing. So if you are just going to use it in addition to a kit, does it have to be boiled, or just mixed with hot water until dissolved? Sorry for the daft questions...I will get my...

    can kit question

Thanks for all the suggestions. I looked at the Brewers friend website (a bit above me at this point) I used to brew a bit 15 years ago, and my recipe was 2 cans of what ever kits malt was in the primary...one week later, transfer it to a glass secondary, two weeks later add a cup of brewers...

    can kit question

Good day everyone...serious newbie. OK..quick question preceded by a short ramble which should show where my head is at. I have read that can kits can be a bit lacking in taste as too much sugar is added. OK...my Coopers stout tin is 1.7 K. How do I work out how much water I would add to this...
