    Mash to Mouth: How long?

The beauty of a wheat. Best when young :) I generally estimate 3-4 weeks including fermentation and bottle conditioning. But that can vary by recipe, FV additions, temp profiles, yeast type, etc.

Do you brew alone or in company

Generally alone but have done a few with friends. I brew during the week after I drop the kids at school. Usually get done by the time they need picking up if all goes well. I like the time to myself, to make notes, check things, and be able to concentrate on what's happening. I do try to get...

What's the 1 bit of advice you wish someone had given you, which you'd pass on to a new brewer?

Don't be afraid. Just do what ever it is you want to do. Failure is the first step to perfection.

    What did you brew today?

Brewed an elderflower saison today: https://www.brewersfriend.com/homebrew/recipe/view/663753/elderflower-saison Gravity ended up higher than expected, but over all a good day.

    Bubble size changing over time

I was drinking my latest wheat and noticed the bubbles in the head were a bit big. A week later the same batch now has much finer bubbles. Now this could be due to glass cleanliness and all sorts, or simply just to time. Anyone else notice a change the consistency of bubbles in the beer's head...

Reflections - how do we all keep fit ?

Hahaha. A bit of both. He tries very hard to keep up with his doggie friends who are usually much taller and faster. I am sure he can keep with old unfit me

Reflections - how do we all keep fit ?

Oh, it's a dachshund alright. Standard size. He generally is ahead of me in walk anyways, and I don't plan on being that fast yet.

Reflections - how do we all keep fit ?

I've actually just started resistance training 3 times a week and I walk the dog. Going to add some running to the mix with the dog now too though.

    More on efficiency....

I've been doing the double batch sparge now too. I got around 70+ the first time and now I am back down to 63. The good news is that my volumes at least are on point now. Going to try a batch soon and will give the mash a stir half way through and the do a double batch sparge again and see what...

    Blind beer tasting videos

It's really just a bit of fun and seeing where it takes us really. The homebrew idea is a good one too, I am sure I can bring one of mine into the mix at some point. Thanks for your comments though :)

    Blind beer tasting videos

Thanks for your suggestions. We did one where we had the drink pre-poured and some people said it would be better to pour on camera, but there's no reason we can't change it up at times. The idea of comparing a generic beer with more expensive beers of the same variety is a nice idea, certainly...

    Blind beer tasting videos

A friend and myself started a YouTube channel where we take turns selecting a beer and letting the other taste it without knowing what it is. Not sure which forum would be suitable, so I thought the snug would be ok Anyway, here's the link to our latest video. Feedback and comments appreciated

What's the 1 bit of advice you wish someone had given you, which you'd pass on to a new brewer?

Yeah, but a "craft" beer is like £5 liter. I can definitely brew cheaper than that (only taking consumables into account, not equipment). The swill price however is hard to beat
