What are you drinking tonight 2020.

Zis followed by zis after a hot afternoon on an isolated beach. Listening to Paradise Lost's new album. 🤘Aaahhh....

What are you drinking tonight 2020.

Yeah, I had to whisk it to get the fizz to bugger off 😁

What are you drinking tonight 2020.

I'm trying a pint of Timothy Taylor Landlord for the first time. It's pleasant enough but not fantastic

Measured the gravity of the pimped Mad Millie kit and it's now at 1.010. Now hop tea time. 40g of Cascade into 500ml of 76°C water and left for 30 mins to cool. Poured through my filtered funnel, then gave the closed FV a shoogle to mix it up. Tell you what though, that FV has been gurgling away...

What are you drinking tonight 2020.

Steam Brew Session IPA, hopped with Vic Secret. Fruity and light and quite nice.

Good tip thanks. Angel Homebrew have all the replacement parts and circuits so should be sorted👍

I've ordered the 35l unit to give me flexibility in volume. My Cali Common was exhausted in a blink so I might do a few more 20 litre batches! I'll still do small batches for stronger brews like RIS though. I currently use PET bottles and 5l party kegs with the Party Star CO2 tap. Will invest in...

Just to boost the abv on this one without the faff of extra grain. My other stout and Californian Common were both 12 litre AG. I've got a 15l pot and 7 litre pot with mash bag, which was fine enough in itself, but hated the sparge/ squeeze cycle. I put a lot of thought and research into doing...

Hi GerritT. Yes since I moved to AG; it's a PITA dealing with the grain bag as it is, let alone for any larger batch! Bottling time is a wee bit quicker too. However that should change once my Robobrew-brewzilla-microbrewery arrives! What about you?

Drinking what is now an unspectacular, low abv brown ale at four weeks old. Plenty of carbonation, but low on taste. Kind of like a black lager to be honest but will be pleasant on a hot day. An interesting on the hoof experiment for a second runnings brew!

Beginners Guide to Water Treatment (plus links to more advanced water treatment in post #1)

Thanks Steve. I've emailed the water board for those details too. I'll keep reading through this post to get a better understanding 👍

Beginners Guide to Water Treatment (plus links to more advanced water treatment in post #1)

Hi All. Reading through this, I'm still stumped as to what do with my water data, as some info like alkalinity and calcium isn't present in the report. Can someone please advise? I like brewing all sorts of beer especially darker beers, but also IPA and would like to try Belgian tripel or...

    What did you brew today?

I've now spotted that on Google books. Hell that'll be a sipper alright. Best of luck with it!👍

    What did you brew today?

Hi Cowman. Is that their Foreign Extra Stout you're cloning? Are you sure about the 225g hops and IBU rating of 168? That sounds insanely bitter!

    What did you brew today?

Cheers! I'll pick up the courage to give it a try!

    What did you brew today?

Very silly question, but does your tap twist back down easy enough with a full FV? I've got the same but am too nervous to twist it round in case of a leak, so have mounted it on blocks!

Solid crust of yeast in fermenter

Really?! Did you rehydrate? Did it add any flavours like orange?

    AMyd666 Brewday

Took a reading today: 1.018. Not quite there yet after a week fermenting. Leave it another week yet. Note: kveik takes time at 22°C. I'll add a hop tea instead later this week methinks.

Solid crust of yeast in fermenter

Bottling went OK apart from the multitude of particles and raft floating about. Some of the rafts blocked the tap. I've binned the flakes but only now thought they could've been dried and reused in future.

Well that's 15 x 500ml bottles sorted, but I forgot about the vanilla extract 🤦‍♂️ Lovely chocolate and bourbon aroma. Lots of bits floating about and those little yeast rafts clogged the tap. Leave them for a few months now.
