Ace brew as a fermentation vessel

Thanks for the advice! Think we are set on a undercounter freezer as I've convinced my girlfriend! Just need to get a heat mat and some silicon sealant and then we are set. Looking forward to giving cold crashing a go!

Ace brew as a fermentation vessel

It's a shame. After more research (and a visit to Currys) we are going to go with a single chest freezer and instead of an airlock use a blow off tube with silicon sealant. You do not by any chance have a recommendation for a silicon sealant do you? Thanks Richard

Ace brew as a fermentation vessel

Hi there, Probably a silly question but has anyone used the ace micro brewer as a place to leave the beer during the fermentation process? I've seen that you can regulate the temperature during boiling, could it do the same during fermentation? My friend and I are toying with the best way to...

    Fermentation fridge wanted!

Gonna start looking on gumtree now. I assume you only need the heater in addition if it was very cold. I think I recall the gent in London beer lab saying getting a chest freezer is great for cold crashing but I do not think we are at that stage yet. I'm going to look for a cheap fridge now...

    Fermentation fridge wanted!

Hi Clint and Mark, Thanks for the advice! Think we will go ahead and go with the fridge. Still not sure if I'm entirely confident in extending the lead for a heater but for now we don't have that problem. Plenty of time to think till winter comes. You don't by any chance know why people...

    Advice for American Ale Recipe

Thank you Clint. Had a look at the site and it's very helpful! I'll definitely use it in the future. Only things it's missing is being able to get advice on specific recipes (as opposed to falling in category). If we don't get any advice we'll go ahead as planned for this one and maybe change it...
