    Boris gone.

That's obvious. But you also said you were annoyed at "remainers" saying the people who voted out didn't know what they were voting for. The general principle behind any democratic vote, you would hope, is that people understand the implications of their actions. Sometimes that is wrapped up...

    Boris gone.

Are you seriously telling me you'd bottomed out the implications of the decision, either way? Or did you just go on your gut?

    Boris gone.

Afraid to say, that ignores a lot of highly relevant information in almost every respect.

    Boris gone.

They've got plenty of willing but incompetent hunts to take his place, I'm sure.

What a load of typical blowhard pap. What did the country vote for exactly? You don't know. The government don't know. And even if they did, they don't know how to deliver it. Whatever it is. In simple, definable, real terms - what do you think should happen?

    B&M kits

Mines a few days from possibly bottling - smells hoppy.

What's the 1 bit of advice you wish someone had given you, which you'd pass on to a new brewer?

And just to reiterate. I knocked out 12L of pale ale (from a B&M kit) in no time at all today, while I was pottering about re-cleaning my AG kit. That's another 20 bottles or so to add to the stockpile, without losing a whole day. However, that also emphasises the point that a single under...

What's the 1 bit of advice you wish someone had given you, which you'd pass on to a new brewer?

Probably only inasmuch as the ease with which I can whack in a quick kit - as opposed to a full brew day. Makes me appreciate how much effort reaching critical mass can take.

this is something I'm particularly appreciating once starting AG brewing.

Some interesting points made. The one about being omnivores is, of course, biologically true, but evolution is a slow process - and our progress to date and eventual (inevitable?) decline as a species might hang on some of the things we're joshing about here. And while I'm sure there are...

    Your personal politics

Mapping yourself is one thing. Mapping onto a political movement or party is something else altogether.

    Brewdays at Graceland

Just had a sneaky test bottle of my May 12 brewday (bottled on 30th). Deep, deep joy. My best ale so far. :laugh8: Now, the recipe.............erm...................ahhhh

    Renault Kadjar

I love old french cars. I'd never buy a new or recent one. Unless it was Japanese. Built to Japanese standards.

    How do you sparge?

Last time out I slowly drizzled my water via a jug into a double decker device (steamer pan inside a colander) sat on top of the tun. I returned to the boiler tap, refilled the jug and drizzled again (and repeat) until I had 24 or 25 L in the FV. What do you call that, so I can vote for an option?

Are you proud to be English.

This "demise of the town centre" is, perhaps, avoidable if large swathes of our population make fundamental changes to our lifestyle and behaviours. Stop buying stuff online that you could get in the town. Avoid out of town shopping centres. Avoid supermarkets. Support your local small...
