    Brew Fridge / Freezer question

Yep, Insulation is bigger and better on freezers so saves you money in the long run too... not that we're talking mega bucks here but everything counts!

    Brew Fridge / Freezer question

Eh, yes. They are better than fridges for that purpose. Go for it!

    What kind for fermentation bucket

Not much light gets into my fermenting fridge. Only when I open the door.

Best Star SAN Alternative including all new Chemsan

For the sake of the environment and contributing to the single use plastic problem, just use tap water, it'll be fine.

    PartyStar Deluxe Tap

Have you tried just leaving it submerged in a bath of VWP or similar?

Fridge for Fermentation Vessel (Fermzilla All Rounder)

I will be mainly using it for primary fermentation (I tend then to bottle half and keg half in small 5 litre party kegs) however now I have the option of it being a pressure vessel I'm interested in just gassing it after fermentation and using it as a keg (yeast still in the bottom) to see what...

Fridge for Fermentation Vessel (Fermzilla All Rounder)

You could just use bubble wrap or similar for the egg cup if it’s in a wooden container. Saves faffing around with foam. I’m just a glutton for punishment.

    Gypsum Taste.

Technically they are but you’d be horrified to find out the reality of “recycling”. https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2019/aug/17/plastic-recycling-myth-what-really-happens-your-rubbish

Fridge for Fermentation Vessel (Fermzilla All Rounder)

It fits in a normal fridge with a bit of work. You need to build a shelf where the salad drawer sits so it’s the same level as the compressor. Then using foam, build an “egg cup” for the FZ so it sits inside it and isn’t as high as the metal holder. Lastly don’t use the airlock that came with...

    Gypsum Taste.

Quite a lot of single use plastic involved in that solution. Very conscious of trying to cut down on that theses days.

I'm just about to order a Murphy's Expert Lab Water Analysis report through BrewUK. Anyone had one of these done before?

    Keeping chickens

We've always just had the standard plastic ones, never had any issues with them. We have 4, 2 large drinkers for the main coup, 1 large drinker for the smaller coup and 1 small drinker for short term "prison sentences" for antisocial birds!

    Honey instead of sugar.

 Assume that you're not going to try to put a spoon of honey in every bottle? That's going to be messy! https://www.midwestsupplies.com/blogs/beer-making/when-to-add-honey-to-beer#:~:text=Use%201%20cup%20of%20honey,beer%20into%20the%20honey%20solution.

    Mini Kegs

...also, if you’re using the rubber bung style, you just push the Party Star through them as the middle bit pushes inside the keg.

    Mini Kegs

Yes, I’ve pretty much got all that kit. If it’s beer, I just use the cap/bung supplied because I’m pretty confident I know what’s going to happen with my forced carbonation. Not if it’s beer (see above). If it’s cider or ginger beer then yes as I’m a bit more “artisan” Hugh Fearnley W when it...
