Now for something entirely different. A touch of sherbet which I think comes Arabic but actually it's a sort of New World Hazy.

Apologies to whoever recommended this as his name eludes me but I got a couple of these as a result and it's pretty good. Thicker than many bottled beers so a bit more like draught.

Starting with my own part grain bitter. Nearly seven weeks in the bottle now and getting fruity and losing the initial harshness. Has probably peaked so that's a reason to polish a few off!

Rather alarming wild westerly winds here in mid Wales seriously buffeting the lodge so snug inside with my part grain bitter in one of those Wye Valley glasses.

What are you drinking tonight 2023.

Have just bought four for £16 from Wye Valley!

What are you drinking tonight 2023.

Just back from adopted local in Wales after beautiful beer in a beautiful glass. HPA.

Now following it up with this from Aldi which I think is a palatable bargain.

What are you drinking tonight 2023.

Started with my own latest bitter for which fortunately I am developing a taste!
  9. micklupulo

What are you drinking tonight 2023.

My own part grain bitter now five weeks in the bottle. Presentation helps so could not resist four of these beautiful glasses from Wye Valley Brewery.

This is my latest creation a 5% ABV part grain bitter. I bottled it on Halloween so with apologies to Hook Norton I have named it Old Spooky. Not bad at all but it's still a bit young.

What are you drinking tonight 2023.

Last night in Wales with a Hooky which has not suffered from the journey!

Bottled Tribute to start with in a totally inappropiate glass but still. Nice but light bottled conditioned beers just slip down too fast!

Back home and limbering up for a curry. Comparing bombers to fighters would normally be like comparing apples to pears but when it comes to beers this Lancaster Bomber beats the current Spitfire and only cost £1.25! Just noticed this score on shot but now 1-2 unfortunately!

What are you drinking tonight 2023.

Just back from our local in Powys and Tileys Ordinary Pale Ale from the Salutation in Glos. Loads of flavour for a beer of 3.8%!

The Gold's gone now though clear to the end so now a Monty's Pale. Nice but thin by comparison.

I am trying to abstain on weekdays but we are in Wales where rules are different on many things so who cares? This is a well kept pint of Ludlow Gold.

What are you drinking tonight 2023.

Back at the lodge having a palate cleansing Steinhauser from Aldi.
  18. micklupulo

    Four and a half hours!
  19. micklupulo

What are you drinking tonight 2023.

After four and a half journey due to flooding and diversions after being used to doing the trip in two hours we are at our away local at Cemmaes Road Powys. This Clun Solar is going down far too fast!

This is good for the price (£1.25) though the Marston's shop in Wolverhampton is not convenient to all!
