Not bad but a bit sweet for me but maybe all porter is? Head did not last long but salt from the crisps I scoffed probably didn't help!

    Kits I Wouldn't Brew Again

Agree that personal taste must play a big part as must a mistake made in the brewing process that is not apparent by an obvious factor such as an infection. I would never again brew the Dark Rock Aussie Gold in the session series which received excellent reviews. For my taste it was far too...

What are you drinking tonight 2024.

This is my AG Theakstons Best Bitter as per Graham Wheeler's recipe. I brewed short to 19 litres and to my taste it came out like an extra strong Bass.

What are you drinking tonight 2024.

Just cracked a trial bottle of my AG Theakstons Best Bitter which I brewed short after a batch sparge which proved efficient so it's a bit powerful but very promising!

What are you drinking tonight 2024.

This is a Coopers Irish Stout bottled in May '21 so took the precaution of opening in the garage. Didn't gush but has developed a strong liquorice edge though still worth drinking!

Which Hops would you never use again

In answer to the main question last year I used Motueka to dry hop an MJ Brewer's Series Pale Ale in order to liven it up. The result was pretty awful yet I am sure there was no infection or any other factor involved. I would be interested to know what others' experience is.

Which Hops would you never use again

May I ask how long the hops remain usable in the freezer? I am interested because my LBHS has recently changed its policy and the minimum quantity of pellets of any hop sold is 50 gms so the remainder after small additions will have to be stored potentially for a few months.
