    Christmas

"My Mamma's Guide to Prostitution." by Albert Finney. Ferdy-Joey-Moth boy! He was in my year at school and he came first in running round a candle on sports day every year. Stock taking in my dad's map shop and still hoping that daft Jenny might come in and still lets you have a go on her...

Brewing in 2L bottles, absolute minimum effort required.

@LED_ZEP yup, and with brews like that you often have to think about pH buffering, too. Wilko's sell ground oyster shells in the pet food area - or the secondary homebrew section as I've started to think of it. But minimum effort they want.

Chippy Tea pulls another master stroke?

YES!! With my mam having the pub she'd get all sorts of gubbins given her and pheasants were on the list. Did a curry with them and man alive they were still so overpowering it was unreal. And the amount of bleedin tendons in the damned things... Honestly, the bin men deserved their...

Which movie(s) have you watched recently?

Moore's Law of Writing : If you write yourself into a corner then make sure you can write yourself out. I would add 'with dignity' to the above. Wonderwoman 1984 - no spoilers. The first two scenes in the film are exceptional because they have an 80s magic that makes you go childlike and...

    Christmas day food pics☃️

Exactly. I've said it before but if my dinner doesn't look like it's been hit by a brown tsunami and you have to go looking for the sprouts with sonar in a rescue boat then sod that - that's not a sunday or christmas dinner. We got invited round to someone's once for christmas dinner and they...

I just ate the heart of the turkey and now I have gained the strength, courage and wisdom of a turkey! I am so going to resit my maths and P.E. gcse's.

What are you drinking tonight 2020.

My - pfft, whatever it is, basically maris otter with 10% crystal 400 brewed with CML beoir. It's got 43g of fuggles, 8g of target, 30g of ekg, 30g of savrinski goldings and is EKG dry hopped in the keg. Went for 40 IBU. I went for Muphy and Son's porter water profile so it's got 75ppm...

    Hefeweizen recipe

Wow. Drop a comment in and see if you think they got better of time or stayed the same. Wheat beer yeasts need as much attention as kveik is getting for sure. Merry Christmas, dude.

    Hefeweizen recipe

Absolutely bang on. Someone said they managed to be drinking a wheat in under 3 weeks by force carbing and I thought I've had them at 12 days brewed bottled and carbonated and they were gorgeous and extra time didn't improve on it. Since I did the CML Gretel and Kristalweizen experiments at...

Racked already carbonated beer on to priming solution

It's up to you, and depends on how soon you want to glug it. When I ran out of gas I purposely primed a wheat beer to near 5 volumes in the keg and managed to serve the whole thing without re-gassing it. First loads of pints were fierce!

Which movie(s) have you watched recently?

Clearly. I was genuinely waiting for someone to ask. My friend Sam whose favourite film was Memento has real problems with time travel films because of inconsistencies, but you've got to work out what time travel model to use and you can usually reduce the eye-rolling by about 60rpm. It's...

    FV size for Ale/Stout kits

He he - anybody and everybody should push me out of the way to answer as half the time I've replied after having a crafty swig or five so don't even remember replying half the time. I'm pretty sure Chippy has set a filter** so only one in 5 of my posts comes through for the benefit of everyone...

    Wine Chemicals

Have you done tests to show this, or is just something you don't like the idea of?

Which movie(s) have you watched recently?

Greenland - absolute waste of time generic disaster film crap with nothing to separate it from any of the other dross in the genre. I usually watch films on 1.25x speed but bumped this up to 1.50x and it still felt like I could feel my eyelashes growing. Fatman - Mel Gibson playing Father...

    Secret Santa Presents

I put a stack of 5 Fray Bentos steak and kidney pies in one year and on my turn I stole them back and got to take them home. Win! I got a bottle of mescal one year. The only booze I've ever poured down the sink. Even baffed out of my skull at 3.30am I couldn't even tum it mixed with...

    Covid-19 the second wave.

Today getting the turkey I saw a guy who I used to hang around with who my mam use to joke "I got at a car boot sale" because I bought a top box for a motorbike off him at one and we ended up being friends. One of my other friends ended up calling him "Prick Tony" because we were all mad into...

    WOW and a Sodastream!l

@stringman get a pub co2 bottle, regulator, disconnect and carbonation cap and you can carbonate thousands of litres. About £45 for a regulator, carbonation cap, disconnect, some pipe and co2 bottle (if you can get one without deposit). You can carbonate the hell out of anything then and don't...
