    Show us your dog

Trying to figure out what that is, looks delicious! (if you are a dog). I love feeding raw bones, such happy dogs.

    Gypsum Taste.

+1 for boiling it. I can get my 296ppm alkalinity water down to about 40 with a 30 minute boil.

I bought a batch of Ashbeck water in the 5L bottles, and am going to try to get them filled with RO water at a local fish place.

Shop bought beer in a Swing top bottle

Ah cool, the description was a bit all over the place so I thought maybe 440. Good for higher ABV beers for sure. Thanks for the tip re M&S.

Does anyone have the old Mole’s Elderberry Wine recipe?

Blimey I think I have a demijohn of that buried around here somewhere that I made from that thread back in 2013. It's got a solid rubber bung in it and it's full to the top. I'll drag it out and see if it is useable (doubtful).

Hmm there's these... Flensburger Pilsener German Pils 330ml Bottles - 4.8% ABV - Beerhunter (it says 330, but I think they are 440)

First brew upcoming - sparging question

I have one boiler, a mash tun (made out of a cooler or ice chest as they call them over the pond), an empty fermenter (read big plastic bucket) and a large saucepan. I heat the strike water in the boiler, pour into the mash tun, dough in and let it sit to mash. Then I heat up the sparge water...

    Raspberry Wheat

I used a hop bag too. They've been in there for 3 days now. Should I hoik them out at some point or do they stay in there till fermentation is finished? Got them from Aldi, only £1.49 a bag for 250g of frozen rasps. Bargain.

What does 'Hazy' bring to the table

Oh crap I think I've just realised what happened to my Neipa. It was utterly delicious on kegging day. I was dancing around like a fairy thinking I'd created THE PERFECT BEER! Now, not so much. No fruitiness left, it's just dull. I had an issue with my racking wand, it was pulliing air into the...

Vinotex Lager yeast tablets: Recreating a 40 year old recipe

Wasn't Vinotex what they used to sell in Boots' home brew section? If so, does it make sense that it would be Young's yeast?

    Carbing in a Corny Keg

For shaking, try holding the cornie at each end, rest it on your thighs and rock from side to side. I'm a wimpy girl and even I can do it. Or lie it on the floor and roll it with your foot (seems to work better for my mini cornies).

Another use for the keezer - making bacon

Google Ketogenic diet. All the bacon you can eat! (works a treat too, a stone down since I started it).

How to Set up a Water Bath for your FV

I always throw a capful or two of milton fluid into the trug but it still goes funky by the time a couple of weeks are up. Wouldn't risk a tap in that.

    Raspberry Wheat

OK I finally got around to making it. Only getting 55% brewhouse efficiency in the BIAB system. I must need a finer grind on the grains. Tricky because I mostly do normal mashes so don't need the fine grind for that. How fine is the grind for BIAB.. I mean could I pop it in the nutribullet for a...

Thanks so much for all the advice, guys. I'll be putting this on in the next couple of days and will keep you posted as to how it turns out.
