    Wilco merlot

I must say I have always enjoyed their wine kits ( mine were merlot and sauvignon blanc). You'll never get a real full-bodied flavour but for the cost etc it makes wine that passes very well with a Sunday roast.

    Re-Introduction

Good evening all, This is a second introduction as I have been off the forum for a long time. Work etc got in the way of brewing etc. From the UK, ex-army now living in France (since 2017). Have been homebrewing for years (only LME kits), moved to France where getting kits is impossible so I...

    A (re) Introduction

Good evening to you all, I joined the forum some time ago, and had started to participate but sadly life and a moe to another country got in the way. So after two years in the north of France (having lost all my homebrewing equipment in the move, Free tip: don't pack all your valuables in the...

For dodgy wine and terrible lager yes. However once you get into decent wines, ales and beers it gets expensive here (or maybe I just have expensive tastes). Plus it is the joys of experimentation and so on.

    palate.

I was my village local's ale tester while I was there, as they knew I'd be honest with them. However I never tended to look for individual flavours but go for is it heavy or light, refreshing, warming, bitter, sweet. Try to keep it fairly general as everyone picks up different nuances.

Cheers Marlon, Well if I disappear for good in a few weeks you know it wasn't a successful experiment! Until then needs must...spied some gorseflower begging to be used. At least I know I'll have someone who can point me in the right french direction (he'll be fed up of my unending cries for...

Thanks for the tip. Might I point out I have officially patented twig wine/beer...some trendy bar will pay a fortune! Funnily enough my 'mates' said the same thing about me.

    Englishman in France

Hello all, Nice to make you acquaintances. I am Will, an English chap who moved to France six months ago. Back in the UK I had done homebrew wine , beer and cider....mainly from kits, plus the usual sloe gin etc. Sadly all my brewing stuff is back in the UK (money is tight with...
