    Fridge advice

*Than drilling the back. **In my experience with my fridges... The 3/16th line for gas is a great idea though, will work through the door seal without creating too much of a gap in the seal, used it like that before.

    Fridge advice

Generally sides are safer, some people say plug it in, chill it down, then put a jug od boiled water in there and see where condensation forms to check where the chilling pipes are. also pilot hole where you want to drill, then use a cocktail stick to poke around at an angle in the hole to see...

    Old brewer but new here

Welcome! Loved the intro very interesting, quick google of a bruheat later and it seems like an early version of the electrim mashing bucket I started out with a few years ago! I am sure you will be a great addition to the forum!

    RAPT pill issues

It isnt groundbreaking and I am sure others have explained elsewhere on the forum threads, but I use a tilt with an old iphone that doesn't go into screen standby with the charger permanently on and the tilt app open. I keep this next to the ferm fridge. this means it stays connected via...

Which gas line connector to use when force carbonating

Yeah what they said, just leave it with top pressure for a week or two, any sediment will settle in that time too, and generally the beer wont be 'green'. Rocking it and force carbing is fine if you are in a rush to drink but wont show off the beer at its best. Although for a hefeweizen that is...

    Brewuk website "down for maintenance"

I went for the 1.5mm ones. I haven’t used them yet so can’t say. But having read a few bits off the braumeister forum, from what I can make out the consensus seems to be 1.5mm, but as I say I haven’t tried them as yet. You can still cut yourself on the edge if you aren’t careful but they are...

Fridge for Fermentation Vessel (Fermzilla All Rounder)

At an educated guess, I think it is a hotpoint RLA30something. It has a dial above the door for the thermostat rather than in the chamber, so one less thing to get in the way inside. I have one in white but I dont have a fermzilla to test. hope that is of some help.

    Chemclean Residue?

Hi, I have heard a lot about TFR recently and I am interested, could you explain how you use and your method step by step with how you rinse etc please? If TFR is caustic, do you have to suit up and be careful of caustic burns? With PBW although not advised, I do just get in with my bare...

Tribute style ale anybody done one ?

Saw this thread and thought I would recommend the CML St Austell salute kit. I started a keg last night and I was very impressed. I know it kind of strips the fun of the experimenting and refining your own clone receipe. but this is great value for lack of effort. Doing a side by side...

    Brewuk website "down for maintenance"

Thats a shame, I had opposite experience, me and my mate ordered two braumeisters at once with a few parts, we tried a few places to see if anyone could do us a deal as the order combined for both of us was £3.5k. I was dealing with Greg back in 2021 and he had the sharpest pencil and done the...

    Chemclean Residue?

Over concentrated starsan / chemsam worked for me, and agitate with a bottle brush? I must admit it worked best neat on a rag dampened with it and worked like polishing, but of course access wasnt an issue with me. Have you tried adding very warm water first?

    Brewuk website "down for maintenance"

That’s my £150 worth of gift vouchers down the pan. And they were the best for braumeister spares, so it is a big loss for the BM users.

    RO Filters

Plus one on the vyair. Spoke to their technical department and we’re very helpful, they are based in Lincolnshire like me so know all about really hard, borderline unfit for human consumption, anglin water, water! I have a 4 stage, but I believe the polishing bead stage doesn’t really add much...

    Constant blockage

Do you use the standard crush or the "Fine Crush" that malt miller offer? They seem to be the only ones that offer "Fine Crush" I have never used the fine crush option, but heard a few issues from it as a result. Not sure what the fine crush is meant for in terms of system / method. past that...

    Brewuk website "down for maintenance"

I know it doesn’t help in terms of having payed money out and potentially not getting your order. But I got fed up of waiting for bac brewing stock so ordered direct with BAC brewing on a credit card I knew done a decent exchange rate and 0%foreign transaction fee. Service was first rate, €35...

    Corny Keg but no fridge

I used a maxi chiller with corny kegs for quite a while, served in my garage bar. Works fine for 9 months of the year, but at the ambient temperature in winter, there wasn't much call to switch the cooler on! Then in summer I found the beer in kegs weren't keeping very long at ambient! (or I...

    Chemclean Residue?

Just to finish the story off in case anyone searches the forum in years to come, looking for a solution to a similar problem, like I often do........... I soaked in normal chemsan mix out of my spray bottle for 15 minutes, tried the scrub and no good. Then I used neat chamsan on a cloth and...

    Chemclean Residue?

Ahh I see, yeah I am thinking I will try removing it with some starsan / chemsan, if its chalky its probably alkaline so a light acid like starsan might help shift it, then I will run / heat and flush with fresh water. Just frustrating as you end up cleaning the cleaner if that makes sense...

    Chemclean Residue?

Thanks @hoppyscotty, do you mean chemsan or chemclean? This was from chemclean which is their version of PBW, whereas chemsan is their version of starsan. This came from chemclean when cleaning after a brew, used it in the AIO for an hour maybe an hour and 20 max, so pretty much in line with...
