Gregg Wallace hits out at 'handful' of accusers

There might never be proof. What there may be is an overwhelming body of evidence that mounts up. At what number do you start listening and believing those that come forward?

Gregg Wallace hits out at 'handful' of accusers

I think you're making the assumption that because only 13 made a complaint, that only 13 found his behaviour objectionable. Given the amount of coverage the story has gotten, I can't blame people for not coming forward.

Gregg Wallace hits out at 'handful' of accusers

    I completely agree.

Gregg Wallace hits out at 'handful' of accusers

Of course it's their duty of care. Let's not pretend that this is a BBC only issue though. It's seen throughout the industry, from Philip Schofield to Harvey Weinstein. It's not just an issue within entertainment either. Look at any industry with a power dynamic, and you'll find abuses of that...

    Advent calendars

There are some excellent Spanish breweries out there. Soma, Basqueland and Garage spring to mind.

You mean that people shouldn't jump to conclusions until all the facts are established? It'll never catch on.

    Advent calendars

Very nice. Mrs DD2 has got me one of the Trembling Madness advent calendars the last few years. Absolutely love it. Dog likes sticking his snout through the window each morning too.

Hop Bongs - Are they worth it?

    And they are excellent.

    Electric cars.

Exactly. Barely any battery is used when the car isn't moving.

    Electric cars.

Absolutely fine. We had terrible floods up here last year at this time. No issues at all.

In my opinion - Dogs on leads.

Agreed. My Patterdale is a menace.

WHC Banana Split yeast and other WHC yeast

Their liquid yeasts I've found to be excellent. The Helles Fire Club (Augustiner strain) is a particular highlight.

Lack of enforcement of laws is a whole other thread. I don't think we should shirk away from trying to address issues because of poor enforcement though.

In my opinion - Dogs on leads.

I suppose any legislation is as good as its enforcement.

In my opinion - Dogs on leads.

No, but the threat of prosecution for possessing a dog with no licence might act as a deterrent. With legislation like this, you should really let perfection be the enemy of the good. It would be akin to saying that there is no point in speed limits, because some people are going to speed.

And people buying dogs as gifts, on a whim.

    Electric cars.

Running costs much lower with said charger (and the chargers aren't particularly expensive). The long journey thing is totally overblown.

    Electric cars.

    Would be a big mistake.

    Electric cars.

Agree to a certain extent, but the idea that we can compete with the Chinese in manufacturing at low cost (what with their heavy government subsidy etc.) is for the birds. I don't like how reliant we are, but there is no easy solution.

In my opinion - Dogs on leads.

I'm a strong advocate for a licence being required, not only for the safety of others, but also so that dogs would be less likely to fall into the hands of people who are manifestly unsuitable owners.
