    G30 v2

Hi in my travels today I bumped into an old acquaintance who ran a homebrew shop. He has a couple of brand new G30 v2 he’ll let go for £450 each. Drop me a pm if anyone is interested and I’ll pass you onto him.

    No Chill in Cube Question

I did this a couple of times but I like to clean up after brewing so it fits better with me 👍🏻

    No Chill in Cube Question

For overnight no chill I’ve just been transferring direct to my sanitised plastic fv. I cover the air lock with some kitchen roll to stop any bugs and then pitch when at the desire temp. haven’t had a problem in the last 12 brews.

Which CO2 mix do you use?

I use both, the C02 realistically covers off 90% of beer styles well enough…. If you have space and the extra reg get both because some beers just taste nicer (imo) on 30/70. You can add a stout nozzle to your taps for an even creamier beer. A 6KG bottle will last a lonnnnnnng time. I reckon...

    Footwear for the brewery

I love my crocs! They’re probably the most useful footwear I own…. If you want some solid wellie type boots, look at Dunlop Rigger boots…. Lightweight, chem and heat resistant, grippy soles, warm lined and just allround comfy!

    Price Hikes

no, I’ll just buy it from somewhere else… not quite sure what the point you think you’re trying to make is pal?

    Price Hikes

Wow, I’ve just gone onto MM to look at a couple of AG kits…. The price has jumped up significantly! Most seem to be in the mid £30 range now from mid £20’s… not good at all 😔 I’ll be looking elsewhere from now on, which is a shame as I liked using MM.

    Nukatap dripping/leaking

The few times mine have dripped or leaked it’s been an issue that tightening up some part of the tap has solved!

    Mixed Gas serving

I’m exactly the same…set and forget with higher pressure. i also find it really interesting how the same beer tastes differently on a beer engine, with 30/70 and C02.

    Menabrea clone

Thanks… that’s sort of where I was heading but great to see a bit more detail 🍻 it says they have a house yeast strain so I I’ll start with 34/70 and see how it needs adjusting from there! I’ll let you know how it plays out!

How long can I leave the beer in the FV

I’ve had some success and failures with leaving for long periods… I’ve had really grassy taste in hoppy beers (cwtch and a hoppy porter) that was rank. But I’ve cold crashed for months without issue. So I would suggest dropping the temp if you can’t package 👍🏻

    Fridge or freezer?

I’ve got a big fridge that allows me to ferment 2 beers at once, it takes around a day to get from 20° to 3° for cold crashing and maintains a good heat throughout with a 40w tube heater. It’s a Bosch one and cost me £30 off FB marketplace. I wouldn’t look at chest freezers for fermentation...

    Menabrea clone

Hi, I’ve had a look about and can’t find much about info on this nice Italian lager - it’s one I’d love to have a go at cloning… don’t suppose anyone has any suggestions please!!
