    Storms

I can think of a few individuals I've worked with who'd have deserved a storm named after them at retirement to mark the trail of destruction they left in their wake. 😂

    Linn! Fantastic. Health to enjoy!

What are you drinking tonight 2024.

Kicking our heels before heading to the airport for an evening flight. Managed to find a Timothy Taylor Landlord on cask which has made my day.

I really enjoyed it to be honest but we don’t get much access to traditional bitter in my neck of the woods so I enjoy it when I get the opportunity.

We’ve been to the viewing of Mark Knopfler’s guitar auction today. Stopped for a quick drink to reflect on it. Young’s London Original for me and a cider for Mrs. Sneedhearn.

    Inside the Factory - Guinness

Interesting. The Get Er Brewed brewery visit to St. James Gate on YouTube is worth watching too for some interesting nuggets of information.

Listening to the late great Bap Kennedy's album "Domestic Blues" tonight. Produced by Steve Earle.

Last one tonight. They are right about the rich & fruity aspect, it's like a carbonated cordial.

I'm going to go over for the viewing just to see such a great collection in the flesh. I doubt that many will go for the estimates though, likely to be much higher I'd have thought. Although that '59 Les Paul in the photo I posted has an estimate of £300,000 - £500,000! Very much an outlier...

Enjoying a Wainwright Golden Ale whilst perusing the catalogue for the upcoming auction of Mark Knopfler's guitar collection at Christies. ashock1

Hard to beat a vinyl play day. :D I'm in the same boat to some extent. I've been having a pile of work done to the house over the past couple of years so the hifi has been put away. I've still been buying albums though. 😊

Indeed, Rega can hoover up your money very quickly! I may have mentioned before on the forum but I have a Rega Elicit-R, nowhere near the top of their range and obviously an MM phono stage but it is a fantastic amp. My old Planar 3 I've had for 40 years. ashock1

That explains how you got any sound from it then. 😊 Choosing an MC setup will be cool day out. Sounds like a trip to Lyric Hifi is on the horizon then... If so a word of warning. They have a concession shop in there these days selling really good quality guitars, so don't take the whole...

I may be wrong but I suspect your portable speaker is expecting a line level input. You would need a phono-line converter between that speaker and the Rega Planar. Rega external phono stage.

Mark Knopfler with a lovely wee song about aging... Side note: Mark is playing a signature Pensa MK90 guitar in this clip. I know where there is one of these for sale at the moment and I am sorely, excruciatingly and most painfully tempted... to buy it.
