    I syphon using one of those tubes with a bit on the bottom r=that helps stop the sediments getting into the bottles, I also use a bottling wand they are fantastic

    Way back when I were a young man, we used to buy beer in 1 litre bottles with screw in tops. Brilliant for home brew. They were like a screw in plug type top. I think it was whitbreads

    Yes you can tell it’s fermenting, we could hear it bubbling from our bedroom 😂

    Just started the coopers Irish stout, added Morgan’s master malt roasted, planing to try it with the caramalt next. building up a stock so been busy 😂

    I made the juicy IPA earlier today and it’s gone crazy bucket lid is bowed up and airlock bubbling like crazy 😂 There’s 4 inches of froth on the top of the wort

    Very accessible, when you consider you can buy a kit containing everything you need for around £45. if you make one and decide it’s not for you you still have 40 pints for around a pound a pint so even if you threw everything away after first brew you’ve not really lost anything.

    Am I right in thinking that originally there was no stout, and that it’s a corruption of stout Porter as Porter came in different grades for the want of a better word. As in light Porter and stout Porter, then later stout Porter was shortened to stout
