Dark Rock Hoppy Days IPA review

That's one tempting looking pint there Paul. I do like a refreshing fruity pale ale. I've got a few Muntons Gold Old English Bitters in my brew room so I think I'll probably go for the Hoppy Days. I can try some of the others on another order 👍 Cheers Tom

Dark Rock Hoppy Days IPA review

Thanks Paul. The first three on my order will be the Nectaron, Citra and Riwaka. I don't t know if I should stick with the fruity ones for my final selection or go for something a bit more "traditional". I'll go and have a read of your review now Cheers Tom

    Party tap

Just to add. The black stuff appeared even though I was flushing my keg cleaning stuff through the attached beer line/tap. Cheers Tom

    Party tap

Up until about 12 months or so ago I didn't bother getting carried away when cleaning my party taps. One evening while pouring a beer I saw a blob of black stuff come out of the tap and into my beer. Turned out that a load of slimy "stuff" had created a home behind the silicone/rubber plunger...

    dry hop methods & oxidation

I'd more than likely just put some sugar in the keg and syphon on top of that. Just treat it as a large stainless steel bottle so of thing. Cheers Tom

    dry hop methods & oxidation

I'm more interested in priming in the keg. It's something I've never even considered since I've had my kegs. If it's a free boost to a better beer then I'm all in. Must admit that when I still made 22.5 litres and bottled a few from the surplus after I'd kegged, the bottled was always the better...

Dark Rock Hoppy Days IPA review

Greetings Mr Ship I'm putting together a wish list for a forthcoming order from Dark Rock and am torn between the Hoppy Days or West Coast IPA as the 4th item on my order. Have you done the West Coast by any chance? A fellow member was very happy when they did it but I'm wondering how it...

    Long Lost Supplier

I got my kegs from him about 12 years ago. The only issue I've ever had was a pin hole in the beer out tube just above the beer level so I was dispensing quite a lot of foam. He replaced it no questions asked. Brilliant service Cheers Tom

Is it possible to take apart a stop tap

Sorry, I just took it as read that John Guest is what everyone uses. They're for 1/4 inch water pipes Cheers Tom

Is it possible to take apart a stop tap

Hi all Does anyone know if it's possible to take a push fit stop tap apart? I've got a few in use and they're getting stiff to open and close. I know I could replace them but I'm a bit of a tight wad so if they can be sorted out then that would be great. Thanks in advance Cheers Tom

    Extract Brewing Planning First Brew

It's in lbs but it's the ratio that matters so take the figures as the same for kg but ignore the given gravity readings Cheers Tom

Hop basket or bag, which to use?

I used the veg bags from Aldi/Lidl. I think they're about 50p for two. Easy to wash and reuse too Cheers Tom

    Clearing.

I've always racked off the yeast and degassed/stabilised/fined in a clean fermenter. Then purely out of habit I leave it a week after the last part of the finings has been added before bagging. Cheers Tom

    Small batch kits

As @jof mentioned on your other thread, the premium 3kg kits usually come in 2 identical cans. Simply using one of those to make 20 pints sounds like a solution for you. The only thing you'd need to do is get extra yeast to ferment the second tin. Cheers Tom
