Which bottled water brands are people using nowadays?

The changes in Ashbecks composition were minor and should not have been seen as a reason for anyone to stop using Ashbeck.

What to do with oversweet quad

CBC-1 will only ferment simple sugars and kills off other yeast.

Would you swap your all in one?

    What did you brew today?

not what I brewed today but... according to a F'book notification....I bottled my first ever batch of beer today, back in 2013. Was a Coopers Mexican Cerveza kit. The taste of Acetaldehyde had just about disappeared by the time the last bottled had been consumed a couple of months later!!! :laugh8:

    Spotless water

The water is processed "on-site"....the "shipping containers" are just large RO systems taking a feed off the local water supply...there is no reprocessing of waste water from other industries.. The stations are remotely monitored by Spotless who can see usage levels and monitor "filter health"...

    Spotless water

I got invited to one in Ipswich a couple of years ago shortly after our station opened. They gave away some "merch" and directed me to a burger van that was in the carpark and invited me to have what I wanted. Young marketing type folks...in their 20's, so the reality of life is yet to crush...

    Lagering advice please

Yes....lagered in bulk, then racked to a separate vessel, bulk primed and bottled. Move bottles to a warm location for a couple of weeks.

    Lagering advice please

Me...I lager first but that is simply because in my garage it is easier to bulk lager 23litres in a single carboy than it is to lager 46 half litre bottles. Either method is valid.

    Moral maze. First date

Oysters and Champagne? Aphrodisiacs apparently. The answer to your question is easy... Start rubbing your hands together in anticipation of a good night to come.

Norwich Amateur Brewers - Brew Like A Monk (14 October 2023)

Wasn't thinking that at all....don't forget...us judges like to get feedback on our scoresheets....if we miss out certain things, if there is seemingly a conflict between two judges etc etc etc...it helps us improve what we do....it's why our email addresses are on every scoresheet. acheers.

Norwich Amateur Brewers - Brew Like A Monk (14 October 2023)

There were four of us judging the tripels and its possible that I may have been one of the judges of your beer. Residual sweetness was a common theme amongst several of the beers...so much so that we went back and resampled the "reference beer", just to make sure our taste buds were not being...

Anyone brewed with pine or similar?

I've used Juniper branches before. Two ways of getting the flavour into a brew... 1) Make a Juniper infusion by boiling your branches in your brewing liquor for 5 to 10 minutes before starting your mash 2) Line your mash tun with a layer of branches before adding your grains....mash and sparge...

Norwich Amateur Brewers - Brew Like A Monk (14 October 2023)

I'll break the mold....I've got two cracking beers in this comp and expect to walk away with nothing, but hope to walk away with something.

Jim and I are on the 9.06 from Ipswich (doesn't quite have the gravitas as the 3.10 to Yuma) Is it fish and chips for lunch like last year?

Well...I messaged the organiser directly and was told not 58 minutes ago that the results should be posted tonight.

    BrewCon 2023 Comp

Not cynical at all. A reasonable conclusion based on prior experience. Bear in mind that "base" is Cornwall and its a long drive from London...and I assume that picture is from a social media post made today....I'd be surprised if it happens. If he still has to enter all the scores and...
