What are you drinking tonight 2022?

My citra, cascade & centennial IPA is nice and has a smoother bitterness but the one with admiral, brambling cross, citra, cascade has a much more up front aroma.

What are you drinking tonight 2022?

This admiral, brambling cross, cascade & citra IPA is starting to improve. It looks a lot darker in the photo.

Iron ,copper , metallic type taste in beer

Not sure if you bottle or keg ? I had this on a bitter that I kegged and over carbed with too much co2. The keg had a metallic taste that I couldn't shift, but the extra bottles were fine

    Wood burners

Best place for them. I can dry freshly cut wood in 1 month in glass greenhouse during summer and a few months extra during the autumn/winter. I was actually splitting logs today

Winter Brew and Swap - Tropical Stout

It was CML the firm. Shouldn't be incorrect mash temp as I done a 2 point calibration on the boiler before brewing

    Slug problems... anyone?

Yes. That is a modest number. Slugs lay between 20-100 eggs several times a year, so 20 is on the low side. They tend to come out in colder, wetter weather but do hibernate below temperatures of 5°C. I work in a large garden open to the public and we would treat the soil with nematodes early in...

Not as many Apples on my tree

They are cranberry sized berries. Red skin with pale cream flesh. They taste a cross between strawberry, kiwi, slightly nutty and candy floss. The aroma is beautiful like candy floss and strawberry. Great to eat as a snack or my wife likes gin liqueur made with them.

Not as many Apples on my tree

My rhubarb hasn't stopped all year. The strawberries were brilliant. The Chilean guava bushes are looking full as usual this year too. Another month or so and they will be ready.

Not as many Apples on my tree

What was everyone's harvest like this year. I've had a bumper year this year and have diced and frozen loads, dried loads and intend to make chutneys tomorrow night.

    Fermzilla All rounder Dip tubr

I cut mine to length and had currently got a stout on there for the next 10 days. Will see if that improves the situation with a gentle bit of tilting as well I did notice that the metal ring that the handles are attached to had started to rust quite badly after only one use. Anyone else had...

Seem to be 'suffering' super fast fermentations at the moment

I've had similar the last 3 but never really worried about them. On Friday past I kegged an AIPA with verdant that over attenuated to 1.008 and another one with bry-97 that over attenuated to 1.007. Both were hit that after 2-3 days. I done a stout on Sunday. Pitched CML The Firm yeast...

    Slug problems... anyone?

Yes have used it and it needs to be put onto soil so wouldn't work on any hard standing. It also needs to be applied when temperatures are above 5°C. It also needs to be reapplied fairly regularly and is quite expensive.
